Have you bought your ObamaCare yet? Deadline looms
Apparently, according to this article, if you haven't bought your ObamaCare insurance by March 31st, you cannot buy any health insurance until the next enrollment period which is later this year, and means you won't get insurance until the following January.
Has anyone bought their ObamaCare yet? Any problems? Are you planning to pay the penalty? One thing I didn't realize is that if you miss this March 31 deadline, you will not be able (under normal circumstances) to get health insurance coverage again until Jan 2015. http://www.foxbusiness.com/personal-...ntcmp=HPBucket |

Re: Have you bought your ObamaCare yet? Deadline l
Do people realize how much freedom has been taken away from us with this new law? IF you don't buy ObamaCare or have insurance by March 31, you will not be able to be covered again with health insurance until Jan. 2015, even if you want to (under normal circumstances)!
You are right D4Life... this is NOT freedom! This is not just a tax. This is forcing every American to do something against their free will. This is just the beginning. If ObamaCare succeeds, what will they impose upon us next? |

ObamaCare's Secret Mandate Exemption
HHS quietly repeals the individual purchase rule for two more years. March 11, 2014 7:15 p.m. ET ObamaCare’s implementers continue to roam the battlefield and shoot their own wounded, and the latest casualty is the core of the Affordable Care Act — the individual mandate. To wit, last week the Administration quietly excused millions of people from the requirement to purchase health insurance or else pay a tax penalty. This latest political reconstruction has received zero media notice, and the Health and Human Services Department didn’t think the details were worth discussing in a conference call, press materials or fact sheet. http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/...?mg=reno64-wsj |

David Jolly (R) just beat Alex Sink (D) in Florida yesterday. Sink outspent Jolly and still lost. That is setting the stage for a referendum against Obamacare. |

I have already decided to pay the penalty this year and wait and see what happens.

OVERNIGHT HEALTH: No delay for the individual mandate The Obama administration will not delay ObamaCare's individual mandate or the March 31 deadline for enrolling in the new healthcare law, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Wednesday. Sebelius ruled out the changes during testimony to the House Ways and Means Committee, where Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) noted the administration has made dozens of other changes or delays to the law. http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch...the-individual |

That seat has been held by a Republican for over 40 years. Obama carried that part of the state when there was a high voter turnout. Less than half of the people who voted in the national elections voted in this "special" election-- and then, the Republican only beat Sink by two percentage points and that's not a blowout. I think the so-called "average American" doesn't want the Affordable Care Act repealed as much as they just want the law to work well for themselves and their neighbors. Then again, I could just be projecting. :) |

Even the Republicans didn't think Jolly was a great candidate. He won with a Libertarian shaving off 5% of the vote. And the lower voter turnout brings out your most energized voters. If the "average American" didn't want it repealed, Sink would have won. The bottom line is that Sink ran (outspending Jolly by $1 million) on the idea of "fixing" Obamacare and that is not a winning strategy right now. Sink also brought in Bill Clinton to help rally for her toward the end, and that didn't help, which is really interesting. :hmmm |
Re: Have you bought your ObamaCare yet? Deadline l
Yesterday the House voted that anyone can claim a "hardship" for exemption, with the "hardship" not being defined in any way, leaving the possibility open that virtually anyone could claim an exemption for the OC penalty, and not have to pay it. This makes me very happy!

Have you been to the www.healthcare.gov website? My accountant advised us that because of the financial hardship we suffered last year, and our low ANI (annual net income), that we could qualify for free healthcare, with our premiums subsidized. Also, if we DON'T get the healthcare, that we could possibly have to pay the penalty.
So, I went to the healthcare.gov site, and looked at our options. Not bad, especially considering, for this year at least, that it would be "subsidized" and we wouldn't have to pay for it. Anyone else considering signing up for the "free" healthcare... if your annual net income falls in a certain range, you may qualify for "free" healthcare, remembering of course, that nothing is "free", and that someone is paying for it, even if you aren't. This makes us reluctant to participate in this mess, even if for one year. |

Will people get mad when they see their neighbor not exercising, smoking and eating fast food? Because in a few years you will have to pay their medical bill. That includes heart surgery or whatever else is needed.
I don't want to pay for other people's consequences, just my own. If I treat my body like a temple why should I be forced to pay for a person who uses their body like a play ground. |

I watched a science fiction film a while ago called Elysium. In it rich people have magic machines that can heal any sickness. It did make me stop and think for a second.
If I had a way to heal every single person on the planet and it would not affect me in any way I would love for everybody to be healed. The problem is somebody has to pay for it and it is usually me. Most people are tired of going to work everyday just so other people can get free stuff. |
