We can not allow other religions to outdo the Apostolic women in holiness.

For a while I thought about decreeing that from now on Apostolic Women were to wear the nuns habit with sunglasses.

For not even the alluring eyes of women can be shown.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in your heart; neither let her allure you with her eyelids.

So that men may not lust after her beauty we must go beyond the nuns' habit.

Therefore I hereby decree that all Apostolic Women are to wear burqas, with dark sunglasses, wear dark long gloves and long dark socks or stockings.

Anyone who does not obey this mandate has a rebellious spirit of disobedience. she is not submitting to my authority. :preach

My point is that if clothline preachers, want to equate holiness with clothes then they should have no problem declaring muslim women or nuns holier than the women in their churches.

And... Muslim women aren't holy because of their garb. A person can not be holy without God dwelling in them.


So... it is the Spirit of God working on the inside of a Christian that is manifest outwardly in a persons life.

Although... many have embraced extremes in their attempt to interpret how holiness is manifest in a believers life.

You'll also run across those that perform holiness to gain approval of God, which is another extreme.

On the other side... there are those that denounce legalism (it is what it is) and women for some reason get butchy haircuts. I never understood that one.

I do not believe in the clothesline. I do feel that their intentions are well, and that they seek uniformity so that there is no confusion as to what is expected.

Proverbs 6:25 has nothing to do with just plain eyes, It is specifically talking about the practice and application of eye makeup.

To cover the loins.
It comes down to culture in which the person lives in.
Just because God made coverings of skins does not determine what God covered with those skins. History and scripture only speak of the shame of a women being uncovered around the loins area, up till the second and third century. Are we forgetting all the art in Europe's churches that depict women with their breast showing. If this was wrong do you think that this would have been allowed as art all through out Europe?
Scripture speaks many times of girding up their loins. Which was to pull the garments up between the legs leaving the legs exposed up to the crotch.
Then you have the robes of the priest that evidently were short enough that God commanded Moses to make breeches that they did not uncover their nakedness when serving in the tabernacle.
All that aside, I have been out of conservative churches for over 17 years now. And I have never seen the degree of unholy dress as is alluded to in the churches we have attended. This ranges from AOG to nondenominational churches.
As for butch hair cuts on women with no men in their lives? My wife has what would be termed as a butch hair cut, as does my daughters. All with men in their lives. It works for them.

I have seen more slobbiness and shabbiness, in holiness churches than main stream churches, it seems the jean skirt is the go to dress for holiness women, and baggy clothes look dowdy rather than glorifying God.

While I have heard that preached I've found that wasn't anywhere in ancient history. You also said that we are only to cover thighs and leave the chest exposed? You offer evidence of European art? So, ARE YOU SAYING it is Biblically and Christian for females to walk around topless. Women who are married can get a buzz cut and get a thumbs up?
So, everyone is cool as long as they are godly and holy on the inside, and be stark naked on the outside? Disclaimer: I AM NOT SAYING YOU BELIEVE THIS.

When you look through the eyes of holiness you do not lust. You can see a naked women and your heart wonders if they need clothes. I have look through the eyes of lust, and now see through the eyes of Holiness. If Apostolic men need women to wear Amish clothing; then Apostolic men are too carnal. Yes, we should modestly dress appropriately for each occasion. We should examine our hearts and check our intent for our clothing choices. Preachers wearing 1K suits is immodest, but we do not hear many sermons on that one. Holiness starts with the heart. Just as sin starts with the heart. We choose.

My point is that the spirit of haughtiness comes through costly array and clothing. I am not condemning investing in quality for longevity.

1 Peter 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of (wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel); 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

This teaching is not on clothing choices that reflects promiscuity. It teaches not to have confidence in wealth or beauty, but rather in a humble and meek spirit. Pride in wearing an Armani suit puts your confidence in your apparel.

Men subjugating women to archaic apparel; because they are bound up with lust, has nothing to do with Holiness. Holiness is denying the works of flesh in ones life and manifesting the fruits of the spirit. And that goes for both the Brothers and Sisters.

My wife dresses the way she does because of her own freewill and how she understands separation unto God. Emphasis on the "how she understands" not made to do against her will. Same way we don't lift our hands in prayer with anger, and doubt. She doesn't dress the way she does through religious force.

How your wife dresses is none of my business. How my wife or twin daughters dress is none of church's business. If a women wants to wear particular clothing that is an issue of consecration between her and God. But when a church makes a doctrine; or a standard, then you are implementing a Talmudic takkanah.

A takkanah is a major legislative enactment within halakha (Jewish law), the normative system of Judaism's laws.

The funny thing is that the words "send forth" come from the same words "cast out" referring to the scripture saying that we are to cast out devil's in His name
