Today is National Cheesecake Day!

Well, today is almost over, but it's not too late to announce that today is National Cheesecake Day! How could I have missed that? Cheesecake is my favorite dessert, hands down.

I came across this website that is celebrating National Cheesecake Day with 65+ cheesecake recipes. The recipe she shares is one that sounds super simple, and yummie! Check it out!

http://www.barbarabakes.com/2014/07/...eesecake-pots/

(This is all PO's fault - she showcased one of this lady's cakes on her Cake thread, and I have to keep going back to this site to check out this lady's recipes and then discovered that today is National Cheesecake Day!)

Anyway - thought I would ask - what is your favorite cheesecake? Feel free to share a recipe if you have one!

My favorite cheesecake is the New York style strawberry or cherry cheesecake. I found a recipe for it here: http://urbanbakes.com/new-york-style-cheesecake/

It's hazelnut. I made some cakeballs using Nutella and it was great! Lots of work, but worth it for a party.

BTW, I probably shouldn't tell you this, but I made some Mexican Wedding Cookies for a baby shower, just recently. I bit into one and a strand of my HAIR was in one! OH MY GOSH!!! I always make sure my hair is tied up when I bake, brush off my clothing and apron - but this little strand of hair refused to leave.

I shouted - There is HAIR in this cookie! All the ladies dropped their plates and punch was all over the FLOOR!

Okay, that didn't really happen. But, it could have!!!! :toofunny

What really happened - I gently put my napkin to my mouth, put the cookie in the napkin and placed it in the trash. I silently prayed it was the only strand of hair found. :heeheehee

I didn't hear of any more. So, I guess not. :heeheehee

BTW, I didn't host the party, just helped. The host made cupcakes and everyone ate my almond sugar cookies and the wedding cookies. Only one cupcake was eaten. I felt really bad for her. I had no idea that would happen. But it's good to note what people really want.

PO!!!!!! What a way to start the morning with all those delicious cheesecakes! I have never made a blueberry cheesecake, and think I would like to try it. Your recipe for the blueberry cheesecake looks awesome! I will probably print it out, and look at it and drool... lol! We have a local blueberry farm that I plan on visiting, and picking some blueberries to freeze for the winter. Maybe I'll get to try this recipe with those fresh blueberries.

I'm serious, you would be surprised to find out that white flour is your enemy and wheat of any color, more than the sweet juicy bacon strip.

Then you need to investigate corn, which is the main food pigs are fed...

We buy our flour from an organic, natural food source, and it is whole wheat, ground fresh, and we buy it straight from the farmer. I make sure any bread we buy has no high fructose corn syrup in it. That is about the best that we can do at this time. Wiping bread out of our diet is not really an option, so we are doing the next best thing that we can do, short of growing the wheat, and grinding it up ourselves...

You need to look up what the proteins of gliadin gluten do to you.

In 1953 our wheat's proteins of gliadin (gluten) was modified so our baked goods would rise better, and the consistency of the product would be fluffier. Yet, while it did make a better finished product the proteins of gliadin became mutated to a point where our bodies don't digest them properly. In fact they wreak havoc in your body causes a host of different issues.

So, you can buy organic, you can grind it to the finest powder, and you will still end up with a the final product that will make any research you find about bacon look tame.

Bon appetit! :heeheehee

Corn is in a whole lot more products than gluten or wheat. Corn is in almost every product consumed. I will look into the gliadin or gluten that you mention. I do know that gluten is a problem, and many people have gone gluten-free. But that still doesn't negate the fact that corn products are in just about everything we eat too, and corn has been genetically modified as well.

Corn is garbage, (as well as SOY) because it has been as you have said genetically modified. http://seedsofdeception.com/

Soo.... corn is bad for you, soy is bad for you, wheat is bad for you, and pork is bad for you. What are you going to eat?

Like we have been saying in these threads, just have to really know your sources, and do the homework to make the right choice. I'm not talking about long life, but quality of life. I have been vegan, vegetarian, Paleo, and just went through all the journey to find what was right for me. Your body is the best barometer when it comes to this subject, and you have to listen to your body.

A lot of issues we have we really don't know we have them because we grow use to feeling the way we do. Not until we have a lifestyle change do we come to realize that our food and lifestyle never made us feel our best, because we never knew what it was like to feel our best.

Please do the research, and give yourself time to see what works for you.

But please look at http://seedsofdeception.com/

Come on we are smarter than God, he did not know what he was doing when he created natural grains. We wiser humans can surely do better than him.
We will keep on "improving" our food supply :nutso
