Verse For The Day

I love this verse!

Isa 14:27 For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back? (KJV)

Isa 14:27 For the LORD of the Heavenly Armies has planned, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?" (ISV)

Isa 14:27 When the LORD All-Powerful makes a plan, no one can change it. When he raises his arm to punish, no one can stop him. (ERV)

Maybe you could elaborate on what this particular verse means to you?

I have heard folks testify about "the devil stopped my blessing" and one time heard a preacher say "he would put an end to a judgment in a person's life". To me, it's real simple when God sets His mind to correct or bless, no one can stop Him.

Rom 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Pray for me.

We might have to go into our prayer closet and never come out... ;) lol

Amen. Evidently the apostle Paul was speaking from his personal experience and could have been referencing the trouble he had with Barnabas.

Acts 15:39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

Thankfully at some point Paul had a change of attitude toward Mark.

2Tim. 4:11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

I just realized that according to this verse I qualify for a "just man". :heeheehee Today, my heart is full of thanksgiving for the times that I missed God's will, stumbled and fell and the Good Samaritan came by and picked me up one more time.

:woohoo

Psalms 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

The verse does not say that the "the day" is a good day, a great day, a sick day, a prosperous day or a bad day. God has given "a day" and we are to rejoice and be glad in the day that the Lord has given us.

Songs of Solomon 8:6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

The grave will steal the love of your life and take the baby right from the mothers arms. The grave is uncaring, cold and final.
So is jealousy. Jealousy is CRUEL. Jealousy will rob you of real love, turn your family against you, drive away any prospects of love and peace. Jealousy will gnaw away at your life until everything that is good is gone. Jealousy is an isolator.

Thank you. I have seen good people destroy their lives because of jealousy.

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

The Law was holy, just, good and spiritual (Romans 7:12 & 14) and yet man could not enjoy being under the law because the law leaves us feeling wretched (Romans 7:24) . But thank the Lord today for GRACE and truth delivered to us by Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.

Jesus BECAME the law, and that is the gospel that brings so much hope to us!

1Cor. 10:13 There hath no temptation (test) taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted (tried) above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Sometimes I feel that my situations in life are unique, I'm the only person that's ever been here. But really all of my "tests" are really common to mankind and God that was faithful to others will be faithful to me. I need to remember that when the temptations comes my way, God has already provided a way to escape. :hanky

Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

What a concept! God doesn't throw us away when we sin and fail Him. God is rich with goodness, forbearances (tolerance) and longsuffering (patience) toward me! That's what leads me to Him, His GOODNESS! Thank God for His convicting power! Thank God for His gift of repentance!

God's love is much greater and broader than any human love we can possess. How wonderful it is that His love leads us to repentance, which leads us into holiness - and our great hope of eternity spent with Him.

Job 14:1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

Job 14:2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

As one preacher said, If your Momma was a woman, you will have trouble in your life. That's just life, in the church or out of the church. I find myself either going through "trouble", a trial, coming out of a trial or entering into a trial, some of it of my own making. :( I've come to realize that trouble in my life is as normal as breathing and some things I can't change, but God has proved Himself faithful by being so near during the hard times. :happydance

John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

We are to be known to all men as disciples of Christ when we have love one to another. Even if we disagree on minor things, by our love one to another, is how the world, and all men will know that we are disciples of Jesus Christ. Love is a difficult thing to achieve, and it may be hard to love a brother in Christ who sees some things differently than ourselves, but this is what we must do, as commanded by the Lord Jesus himself.

"A NEW commandment!" No wonder folks rejected Jesus! They had been taught to hate their enemies and along comes Jesus with this NEW teaching of love. I long deep in my soul to be able to love like Jesus taught us to love.
Thanks.

Loving like Jesus did is a challenge that we will face every day we live, I believe, as we grow more and more like Him. Indeed, no wonder folks rejected Jesus teaching, and why the young man turned away sorrowful at the further teaching of Jesus to sell all and follow Him. Following Jesus will cause us to let go of things that we think are most important to us.
