Largest Apostolic Church in the US
 

Does anyone know what the largest Apostolic Church in the United States is? By Apostolic I mean teaching the essentiality of the Acts 2:38 New Birth experience.

I personally do not know of a church larger than FPC at North Little Rock.

Just curious.

Someone posted a while back over 2500 in all three services. I have a friend that goes there and he said it was over 2000.

Pastor Timothy Lacky is the Pastor and if i'm not mistaken they run about 600 plus. I recommend anyone that is not in church in that area attend FTC, along with their daughter works in the same area.

When a similar question came up on a different thread not long ago I think many of the ones mentioned here that are UPC and thought of as the largest all had reports that indicated they actually were running 1500 or less.

I think there was one church in Florida that may have been around 2,000 but I don't recall the church or pastors name. It was not one of the "blue blood" UPC churches everyone had heard of for decades.

If FPC LR really does run 2000-2500 then I would think they are either the largest or in the top two or three. At least within predominately white churches. I have no idea if there are any PAW churches that are still 3 stepper / Oneness ones that are as big or bigger.

There are some very large black Apostolic congregations. Apostolic Church of God Chicago, Greater Grace Detroit, Grace Apostolic Indy, Greater Refuge Harlem, Bibleway DC, many others.

Are they still Acts 2:38 three stepper churches or have they "gone charismatic" and become one stepper and trinitarian tolerant like so many of us exUPCers?

Standard wise with the exception of Refuge are gone. At least 3 of these still preach the new birth message.

Really I don't know? It is the largest I know. Some congregations have daughter works which might match or eve surpass that number?

Alexandria averages around 2500. West Monroe runs around 1200. Denham Springs around 1000. All in Louisiana.

Sanctuary size. I'm not sure . I know that Woodlawn in Columbia Ms has 1300 stadium seats. And I think Alexandria seats 5000.

If POA averages around 2500 then they must have a lot of folks in classrooms or offsite locations. There is not anywhere near 2500 people in their sanctuary on Sunday mornings or Sunday nights when I have watched their webcast.

The Rock Church Sacramento, CA seats just over 5000 and from what I understand they are averaging around 2000

There is a Spanish UPC work in the LA area that reports weekly avg of approx. 5000. (from what I understand they are NOT all under one roof each week, but they do come together once a month or quarter to have a combined service.)

Personally I don't see large churches as a good thing. Id rather see several smaller to medium size churches in an area under a bishop

I have heard a couple people make the comment that the North Little Rock Church is the largest Apostolic Church they knew of and I was curious to whether or not there was a larger Apostolic Church in the US and if so which was the largest.

I clarified what I meant by Apostolic because I know the definition is varies person to person. Not trying to prove anything.

I truly believe if preachers/pastors/bishops/elders whomever is over a flock of God's people were following Jesus, THEY WOULD SEEK UNITY (UNIFICATION) OF THE CHURCH.There should be 1 Apostolic Church with many locations. (1 Corith. 1:10 & Acts 2:44) Similar to the Jehovah Witnesses Kingdom Halls. But because there is so much division, greed, pride and strife, you have what you have now; a church on every corner, each thinking they have their personal key to the kingdom. Mark 16:15 does not mean we have to be apart AND different. Galatians 2:9 proves that.

I whole agree with your post, unfortunately we are actually going in the opposite direction. the Apostolic movement keeps on splitting up into more and more different groups. The split is usually over some insignificant issue.

It is sad, but it is the current state of affairs.

What sad state of affairs, from what I hear the UPCI is fracturing.
I never liked that the UPCI was controlled by the Ultra-cons but I figure that they would eventually lose power and a more middle of the road leadership would take over.
But it seems the Ultra-cons are tightening their control even harder and they are squeezing people out. In their seal for a pure church they are uprooting a whole bunch of wheat along with the tares.

Well sister the ultra cons are doing quite a number on the UPCI.

They want to purify the church so much that anyone who slightly disagrees with them is given the boot.

They only want people who toe their line without any questions.

Pretty sad if you ask me.
