Have you ever lived in a day of such turmoil? I pretty much grew up during the cold war but really only remember the tail end.

The Chinese were a non factor and any Islamic unrest was limited to Palestine. What's going on? Is it the End Times?

Jesus said that Jerusalem will be trodden down by the Gentiles until the time of the gentiles be fulfilled. Jesus also said that the gospel would be preached unto all the world before the end.

I think these two prophecies are almost fulfilled.
I think just about every nation in the world has some Christians.
because of the current turmoil many gentiles are leaving Jerusalem, if the exodus keeps up Jerusalem will eventually be inhabited mostly by Jews.

JESUS' words; a generation is about 75 years so:

1948 + 75 years = 2023

So after 2020 things should get reeeeal interesting.
You can already see them setting up the system right in front of everyone's eyes but most of the world is blind (JESUS' words)

Flip to five more chapters in Psalms and you will find where a generation is referred to being forty years.

Psalm 95:10-11

If Elijah was in Heaven whats he doing on Earth at least 8 years later still preaching judgment?

The world he spoke of ended with destruction of Jerusalem/Temple. Of you look up the word world in Matt 24 it means age not literal physical world. This why he told them "when you see these things"

It was a letter, nothing more, nothing less. A letter.

Elijah, a prophet, had the foresight from God to prepare the writing to send to Jehoram. Yet, you still cannot prove that Elijah was taken up in the whirlwind and dropped off on some mountain. No where in the text you offer does it say that Elijah was still living. So, come down to the thread in the eschatology section. I have some more questions for you. :)

I have not said he was dropped off on some mountain. That was what the sons of the prophets speculated. I always say he was probably needed somewhere else.

Nonetheless we can be as certain as certain is that he did not ascend into Heaven. That is if one takes Christ as their final authority.

As to the topic at hand, Russians, Chinese, and Muslims certainly a bad sign for Americans and particularly Christians.

Between these three groups historically MILLIONS of Christians have been slaughtered.

Now I hope that the new Russia will never go back to the way of the Soviet Union concerning Christians. Personally I respect Vladimer Putin. I hope he will continue to think favorably toward Christians.

Mike, yet you haven't proved that Elijah was taken up in a whirlwind to transport him to any other place on the planet. No matter what problems you have trying to reconcile John 3:13 with 2nd Kings 2:1, you just can't invent things to seem like your strengthening your argument. Because just by looking at 2nd Kings 2:1 we see Elijah being taken up into heaven. It doesn't say that Elijah was transported, translated, God brought Elijah to another place via whirlwind. Elisha the student of Elijah follows the prophet to ask for a blessing, the students of the school of the prophets notify that Elijah would be taken by the Lord. Not to another area of Judea or Israel.

The student of Elijah, Elisha rents his own mantle, a sign of mourning, or distress, not that Elijah is going on some air ride, but that he is being taken by the Lord. Elijah's mantle 2 Kings 2:11-14 is passed from Elijah to Elisha, this symbolizes not a change of clothes because Elisha just torn his own into shreds, but a passing of prophetic authority. One can only deduce from your speculation concerning Elijah being whisked away in a whirlwind that if he wasn't being taken up into heaven, (just merely being shuttled to some remote spot in Israel), was the old prophet retiring from ministry?

Elijah does pass the mantle (his own) to Elisha. So, if he wasn't taken up into heaven as 2nd Kings 2:1 and 2nd Kings 2:11 clearly state, then by your view was Elijah retiring from his ministry? If retiring then why was he sending messages to Jehoram?

Herbert W. Armstrong also taught the same as you, as does his splinter groups.

Your teaching like Hebert's does more for question begging, then question answering.

Elijah went to Heaven. Agreed. Now look up the meaning of "Heaven" in Hebrew and you will know where he went. Strongs 8064.
