Who should get the credit?

A man who went into cardiac arrest in a church last Sunday had two forces on his side: paramedics, and the prayers of pastor and congregation. When the man regained a pulse, the latter claimed victory, The Blaze reports.

"When they raised the IV I knew that was a glimmer of hope and I knew that something powerful had taken place," said E. Dewey Smith, pastor of the House of Hope Church in Decatur, Georgia, WGCL Atlanta reports.

Church members talked about feeling a "power in the room" and "the blessing of God's hand" while the man was unconscious for 15 minutes. Smith led a prayer as paramedics attended to the man, who had flat-lined.

In a possible contradiction, members also called it divine intervention that paramedics were there in the first place. The emergency workers had come responding to another incident that turned out to be a false alarm, and remained to hear the pastor's service, a parishioner says.

Soo... do you think God, or the paramedics should get the credit for the miracle?

Jesus deserves all the credit. Hope the paramedics agree.

Re: Who should get the credit?

I believe that the Lord Jesus worked through the hands of the paramedics. I would say that the paramedics were the vessels that the Lord used to perform this miracle. Their hands and their training, coupled with the prayers of the saints and their faith in Jesus allowed the man's life to be restored.

I believe that ultimately the Great Healer and Physician touched the man and God should receive the ultimate glory, but the paramedics were vessels that God used to restore the man's life.

I don't know if Jediwilli will get back here to this thread... but I thought of him when I read the story. I know that he has posted before that he sees the work he does as an EMT or paramedic as a ministry to people.

God should get the glory for everything. Nothing happens without His allowing it to happen. No one can cheat death so that man only recovered because God had mercy and allowed it.

Romans 11:36King

36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen

It's a combination of God's amazing grace and the medical advancements we have today.

The man should be careful whom he thanks, otherwise the Twitter will name him jerk of the year as they did the Dr. who praised God for saving his life after being infected with ebola.
