All over-eaters are lost as two boys kissing!

Prov. 23:19-21
19 Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way.
20 Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:
21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

Prov. 23:1-3
1 When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:
2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.

YIKES! Strong words here - put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite!

"These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers; that you may eat. But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you. They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination. Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales; that shall be an abomination to you."

a. These you may eat of all that are in the water: The rule again was simple: Any water creature having both fins and scales was kosher and could be eaten.

b. Whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers; that you may eat: On this principle, most fishes were considered clean - except a fish like the catfish, which has no scales. Shellfish would be unclean, because clams, crabs, oysters, and lobster all do not have fins and scales.
Abomination as in Duet. 22:5?

Just to stir the pot though, it says "abomination to you"... whereas in Duet. 22:5, it says "abomination to the Lord". Regardless of the wording, an abomination should still be an abomination....... shouldn't it?

Speaking of living in sin I have lost track of your church / spiritual journey. The last I recall you had gone back to a UPC church. Are you still there and thus not living in sin?

Deuteronomy 22:5 says unto the Lord and that is definitely different then an abomination to us. Also they are two different Hebrew words.

Tho two different words they mean the same thing.

Strongs 8441 and 8263

It staggers the imagination how strongly this is resisted. We all know Duet 22:5 is one of the most important doctrines to Apostolics. They really hold to it regardless of the fact its under the law.

And the same law says its an abomination to eat shrimp and catfish BUT.......we know that's not for us!

And that one in Leviticus about NOT CUTTING THE BEARD......HOW DID THAT GET IN THERE?

Anyone else get the double standards?

I agree with you on the beards, but I don't think ladies should wear pants. It may not be a heaven or hell issue depending on the heart of that individual person, but I think our culture is moving in the wrong direction. I may be old fashioned on somethings, but in most cases we were better off the way things used to be.

You can think anything you want about pants
but you can not use the Bible for it, for pants are never mentioned in the Bible.

Neither are bikinis.

My PREFERENCE is that women would wear full length skirts or dresses. I cant use Duet. 22:5 to make it so being it is of the law. Yet it seems nature shows men and women should have some kind of distinguishing dress.

If women are going to wear dresses that show their legs I would prefer loose fitting pants.

LOL...
:highfive

I haven't been a member of a UPCI church in well over a year and the return you speak of was over a year ago and very, very brief (as in one or two Sundays).

Here or there is not a sin.

Over-eating fat people are living in sin and must repent!
