Left Behind nonsense Movie

I am watching the left behind movies.

I am having fun watching all the nonsense of this pre-tribulation fantasy.

I think is should be classed as a Christian comedy. :heeheehee

The joke is on you when the Rapture occurs......

2 Pet 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

We do not believe in the rapture for it is a non scriptural word just like the word Trinity, both are non-existing words to explain non-existing doctrines.

The Bible has always mentioned "The coming of the Lord" look at the Bible and you will see this is the only phrase that is biblical.

the rapture fantasy is nowhere in the bible.

You've made this statement numerous times on this forum. It's an absolutely false statement

If you think preterism is about avoiding the tribulation, you have no idea what preterism is.

Preterism is about interpreting the prophetic texts within the primary context it was written.

Everybody knows pre-trib and post trib have a lot more in common. Hello, it's called dispensationalism (pre trib, post trib, mid trib, pre wrath). The fundamental difference among these are the timing of the rapture.

Please, stop being disingenuous about the topic.

Carry on...lol

This is the event called "Rapture"

1Th 4:15 For we say this to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first.
1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

There is no word "rapture" here
The only term used here is the one I use "the coming of the Lord"

There is no mention in here anywhere anything about an anti-Christ, a 7 year tribulation or people disappearing. None of the items included in the term "Rapture" are mentioned in here at all.

dispensationalism is a brand new theology created in the 18th century its main proponent was John Nelson Darby and widely disseminated by the Scoffield bible. before then it did not exist.

No one in the church ever taught dispensationalism.

It is only by twisting the scriptures and matching texts here and there willy nilly can anyone argue for dispensationalism.

I didn't say there was a word for Rapture there...

I didn't SAY this verse mentions an anti-Christ, a 7 year Tribulation

HOWEVER, since clearly I have to explain it to you

1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord

The part in BOLD is the idea behind the word "Rapture".

The Latin Vulgate translates the Greek word used in the above verse as
as rapiemur, from the verb rapio meaning "to catch up" or "take away".

That is where we get, in english, the word Rapture

The Greek word used above is
harpázō; fut. harpásō, aor. pass. hērpásthēn, 2d aor. pass. hērpágēn. To seize upon, spoil, snatch away. In Class. Gr., the fut. pass. harpázomai is used more often than in the NT. Literally, to seize upon with force, to rob; differing from kléptō (G2813), to steal secretly. It denotes an open act of violence in contrast to cunning and secret stealing. Though generally harpázō denotes robbery of another's property, it is not exclusively used thus, but sometimes used generally meaning forcibly to seize upon, snatch away, or take to oneself (Mat_13:19; Joh_6:15; Joh_10:12, Joh_10:28-29; Act_23:10; Jud_1:23). Especially used of the rapture (Act_8:39; 2Co_12:2, 2Co_12:4; 1Th_4:17; Rev_12:5); to use force against one (Mat_11:12).

Robertson says "Shall be caught up (harpagēsometha). Second future passive indicative of harpazō, old verb to seize, to carry off like Latin rapio."

Paul taught it.....Ephesians 1:10
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Ephesians 3

3 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

Re: Left Behind nonsense Movie

The resurrection of the dead, and the coming of the Lord are the two biblical terms for the idea of the catching away of the saints, and the transformation from mortal to immortality.

The whole premise behind the "Left Behind" movies is that it will be a secret event, and people will just disappear, and no one will know why, which is totally false.

Read this passage here - it couldn't be plainer, in my opinion:
Matt. 24:29-31
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
After the days of tribulation, then the sign of the Son of man shall appear, and ALL the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they SHALL SEE Jesus, who shall send his angels with the GREAT SOUND of a trumpet to gather his elect from the four corners of the earth.

There is nothing in the above passage that suggests a silent, stealthy, mysterious event. EVERYONE on earth will know what is happening. There will be no doubt in anyone's mind what has taken place.

The rapture is not in Matt 24. It's in John 5, 1 Cor 15 and 1 Thess 4.

As someone said, that is patently NOT the reason people are preterists, partial or full. We believe tribulation is our lot in this life for any age. The church was here for the great tribulation way back in the first century. It was not raptured. So this post is indeed disingenuous.

Acts 14:22 KJV Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Notice the terminology. It is HEAVEN, not the sky. We cannot see into heaven. It was A "SIGN" of Jesus in Heaven. If it was the Son of man Himself there would be no mention of a SIGN for HIM.

If we read Daniel 7, we read of the son of man IN CLOUDS IN HEAVEN, but He went to the throne, not the earth. And the SIGN OF THAT -- the sign of Him having gone to the throne -- were events that occurred on earth. the SIGN the disciples asked about in verse 3. And that SIGN of what they asked about is the same SIGN of the temple destruction in Mark 13:4 and Luke 21:7. Note reference to THESE THINGS in those verses and read before them to see what THESE THINGS refer to. they sought a sign of Jesus coming in destruction!

Quote:

When have ALL the tribes of the earth mourned?
EARTH is LAND in Greek. TRIBES OF THE LAND. Isreal's tribes. Do you not think they mourned when the capital city and temple were razed to the ground?

Quote:

When has EVERYONE seen the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and glory?
He came TO THE THRONE as Daniel 7 attests. THE SIGN OF THAT presence in clouds in heaven was the things he said would occur in Jerusalem.

Quote:

When have the angels sounded a trumpet and gathered all the elect together?
You have to understand what the gathering means to know that, and that is understood by what we read using the same terms in Matt 23:37. What did he mean there? Also, compare Matt 23:36, and consider who he meant, with Matt 24:34.

Matthew 24:34 GNB Remember that all these things will happen before the people now living have all died.
