Rubio: Legalize Illegal Immigrants So They Can Fund Border Security
14 Jun 2013

“We need to register them as soon as possible, not just to keep the problem from getting worse, but we’re going to require them to pay a fine, and that’s the money that we are going to use to pay for the border security,” Rubio, said, according to York. “If we don’t get that fine money from the people that have violated our immigration laws, then the American taxpayer is going to have to pay for border security.

Rubio, a prominent Republican on the Senate’s Gang of Eight with Sens. John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC), said if illegal immigrants are not legalized, “we’re going to end up borrowing money like we do now for 40 cents out of every dollar, and I want to prevent that from happening.”

Report: McCain, Rubio Got Fox News On Board For Immigration Reform

The story, written by Ryan Lizza, indicated that Sens. John McCain (R-AZ), Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) had discussions with "top hosts" at the conservative cable news network, including Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Neil Cavuto, all of whom are " now relatively sympathetic to the Gang’s proposed bill." It also quotes McCain as saying that News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch and Fox News chairman Roger Ailes are big advocates of immigration reform.

O'Reilly interviewed Rubio last week, urging the Florida Republican to come to him if anyone opposes the proposal.

The whole article is behind The New Yorker's paywall, but Politico excerpted part of it here.

I'm sure the issue with Marco is Amnesty.

But, maybe you've read that Mitt Romney..... He was your guy, right? :heeheehee

Apparently Rubio and his campaign are content staying a "strong third" and are not serious about wanting to win the nomination.

The Gang of Eight is going to come up for him. He and Walker have both flip-flopped on immigration. It just looks like pandering. I would suspect they want to crowd the field to push out the only true Tea Party Conservative - Ted Cruz.

Listened to Marco Rubio's speech at the Council of Foreign Relations.

http://www.c-span.org/video/?326016-...eign-relations

He reminded me that even though I do like to listen to him when interviewed about various issues, I do not like to hear him give a speech.

He always "reads" his speech and it makes me feel bored with him. He also acts like his mouth is so dry, I want to hand him a bottle of water.

I agree with this assessment I read concerning him saying he has more experience than anyone on foreign relations - "He is comfortable answering questions on the subjects, but, so far, he's been largely non committal on some of the specifics."

Pressing-On 05-15-2015 11:37 AM

Re: Marco Rubio 2016

I don't always agree with Peggy Noonan, but she put into words what was bothering me about Rubio's speech.

He laid out his "Rubio Doctrine" - 3 Pillars:
You can read his exact wording on all 3 pillars here:

http://www.foxnews.com/transcript/20...licy-doctrine/

I just want to address the third pillar:

"And the third is our foreign policy should always be built on our values as a nation. We support freedom. We support nations and people who aspire to democracy. We support human rights and the respect to human rights."

In his speech at the Council of Foreign Relations he says, "The American people hear their cries, see their suffering . . . and desire their freedom.”

I wanted to know more about what he planned to do with that statement, and then Peggy brings that up in her article.

Quote:

In question-and-answer following the speech, moderator Charlie Rose quickly cut to the chase. “Should we be the world’s policeman?” Mr. Rubio: “I don’t think that’s necessarily the role that I would advocate.” He then pedaled back to the importance of diplomatic leadership.
http://www.wsj.com/articles/marco-ru...lar-1431645831
In my previous post, I quoted a statement someone had made, which still remains spot on today:

"He is comfortable answering questions on the subjects, but, so far, he's been largely non committal on some of the specifics."

Marco Rubio Promotes Welfare And Citizenship For Illegals In Middle of America’s Immigration Crisis

Rubio’s spokesman declared: “Marco has repeatedly stated — and did so again last night — that he is open to green cards after 10 years.”

A “green card” is the document that entitles foreign nationals to collect welfare, draw Social Security and Medicare, bring their foreign relatives into the U.S., and become voting citizens. In fact, the Obama Administration is currently working to get as many people on green cards as possible to vote before the 2016 election. The Obama Administration refers to green card holders from foreign lands as “New Americans,” echoing Rubio’s campaign theme of a New American Century.

Why does that matter if he believes that?

From a Christian point of view, aren't we all born into sin?

Aren't we ALL born sinners?

Don't we ALL need to be born again?

Besides, science says that there are situations where if the mother releases certain chemicals while she is carrying the child and those chemicals are released at certain points of the formation of the child's brain, then that child may be prone to developing homosexual tendencies.

No gay gene, but science says that it is POSSIBLE for a person to be born "predisposed" to that way of thinking. That doesn't make it right, but it explains how it can happen... for some.

Exclusive: Marco Rubio Fails To Support Single GOP Immigration Enforcement Bill

The United States is being deluged with illegal immigrants, spurred on by the hope of amnesty. In response, conservative lawmakers have introduced a wide array of legislative proposals to clamp down on illegal immigration.

Breitbart News can now exclusively report that, despite Sen. Marco Rubio’s campaign rhetoric, the presidential hopeful hasn’t cosponsored a single one of these immigration enforcement proposals, nor introduced any of his own in the two years since he was the very public face of the Gang of Eight in the Senate.

What you guys don't understand is that IF Rubio makes it out of the primaries and on to the GOP ticket, he will have SIGNIFICANT support from Hispanic communities all over the country!

Support that Cruz will NEVER have. Why? Because Rubio is practical and Cruz is a political idiot.

I don't like Trump and I hope he drops out the race. However, a Trump/Rubio ticket is almost UNBEATABLE-- regardless of who Hillary chooses as her running mate.

A Rubio/Trump ticket and the GOP WILL. WIN. BIG!

Presidential Platform Review

Rubio is pro-growth, though his commitment to growth is limited by other priorities.

Rubio has innovative ideas on opportunity, though not all are consistent with limited government principles.

Rubio supports limited government, but the policy agenda he has offered is restrained on some issues by political considerations.

Rubio’s openness to policies like amnesty mars his efforts to take on the Washington establishment.

The Gang of Eight amnesty bill wasn’t GOP Fla. Sen. Marco Rubio’s only immigration abomination and legislative betrayal of American workers.

While he disingenuously claimed at last week’s GOP debate in South Carolina that he had seen the light on immigration over the past 24 months, Sen. Rubio remains co-sponsor of yet another foreign worker visa expansion bill that threatens both our economic and national security.

This is far bigger than simply a disagreement between Rubio and his presidential rival, Ted Cruz, in the heat of a competitive race
