So I assumed this was the Louisiana Campmeeting in TIOGA.... At the UPCI campgrounds...


then I read Rev. John Hair! hahaha!!!!

is this the Elder John Hair or his son? (idunno if he has a son with that name just asking)?

Yes. Elder Hair died last year. Had cancer several years. John his son is pastor now.

When does the UPC LA Campmeeting begin?

I think MS's (UPC) begins first week in July in Jackson, MS

I'm surprised to see Bro. R. Cavaness on the same speaking ticket as Bro. Tim Spell. They seemed on opposite ends of the conservative spectrum when I was in the ACI/AMF...

I grew up hearing Bro. Junior Cavaness' dad preach many, many times in person, and went to his dad's church for conferences too. But it has been many, many years since I've heard Junior Cavaness preach. I was just surprised that he and Timothy Spell are on the same platform preaching, because of their differences in beliefs, or at least differences they had when I was in that group.

By the way, I love Bro. Tim Spell's singing. We went to the Ohio camp meetings and he would lead the choir. He has an amazing voice.

I distinctly remember him singing "I'm Climbing Up the Rough Side of the Mountain" as a choir song in my teen years. In recent years, I have enjoyed the song "When God Unfolds the Rose"... among others.

However, thinking UPCI then seeing that name clearly made me laugh out loud...those aren't exactly "things that go together"
