Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
In the Old Testament, I remember as a young teen that I first heard the story of Gideon and it was so fascinating to me and to this day, I love reading about him. When I taught little kids, they always knew the story of Gideon. I love the others too, David, Shadrach, Moses, Joseph, Joshua and on down the line. Of course all of us Christians on here love and adore our Saviour and ALL that He did for us. He suffered an a terrible painful death for us to have eternal life. KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Love Him and have had the Holy Ghost since 1961 - almost 54 years...

The lady with the alabaster box will always be remembered everywhere the gospel is preached.

Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
After the Lord, John the Baptist is my favorite Bible person. He was a man of prophecy, who helped usher in the Kingdom, only to be martyred before he had a chance to see the very Kingdom which he helped usher in, come into fruition at Pentecost. It's a classic tragedy.
He was the greatest prophet ever born of a woman, and yet, the least in the Kingdom of God is greater than John was, because John didn't get to experience the New Covenant. |
Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
I love reading who and why .....

Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
of course Jesus is...I actually meant other than Jesus...

Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
Aside from our dearest Jesus, I really like St. Paul for his writings.

Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
I like Joseph and Paul. Joseph saw some tough times and rose above it. Paul was a thinker who still had faith.

Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
ACTUALLY IT IS PAUL! He amazes with with his consuming love for souls, his travels, his sacrifices.... I love to read about his missionary trips. I never get tired of reading his letters and answers....
Sorry RJR you misread me on that one....I do enjoy the stories of the ones you mentioned but the complete change in Paul's life amazes me....and to think it was almost an "unknown person" (Ananias Baptizes Saul) Acts 9…17So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit." 18And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized; 19and he took food and was strengthened. Now for several days he was with the disciples who were at Damascus. We really don't know much about Ananias.... sometimes we may not baptize thousands like Peter and some others however it may just be a Paul we baptize! |
Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
In School we studied a book written by the late Sister Mary Williams on the life of Paul...I wore that book out reading it so many times.

Paul because he is "ALL IN" despite the trials (which are not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us... they are our light affliction). Paul REJOICES in tribulation and not in his accomplishments or even the things that God has done through him...God receives all the glory! Love Paul's example.

Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
Paul demonstrated such humility while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ Acts 20:19 tells us that he “served the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials that happened to [him] through the plots of the Jews. Acts 28:31
Of all people he could have been proud...he was so educated....and so many other things yet he was humble....yet so was fully “sold-out” for God. |
Re: who is your favorite Bible character?
Wow, there are so many incredible people in the Bible.
I have always wanted to know how Mary dealt with all the things she went through. To thank her for being willing and obedient and being the blessed vessel that brought forth our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! I would like to ask her questions about Jesus when he was a little boy and on up through his life until he began his ministry. |
