Preterism or Maui Wowii
When I was young and foolish I would smoke a lot a bad things, sometimes I would think evil things, sometimes I would imagine myself flying. Overtime I stopped and tried to get a hold of reality when I found this beautiful message.
Now, I just looked in to this teaching recently and I am so surprised that people really believe this. I am seriously shocked at this moment. I never thought, but I guess we are in the last days. Wow I never thought I would see the day that people would actually say that Jesus is not coming for his church. A friend shared with me a message that he received from the conference on the mainland. The message was called " Defending the blessed hope " preached by Kupuna Epley. I love the message and cherish it because it is our hope, the rapture of the bride of Christ. At the time when I heard this message I had no idea about this Preterism. But today I am very sad that the devil has taken this Hope way from some.... I am not trying to hurt anyone by my words. I am just sad, that some have no hope. But I am suddenly happy, because a friend is taking me to Mama's fish house today! |
Re: Preterism or Maui Wowii

Re: Preterism or Maui Wowii
well, i don't know what to tell you. Something obviously seems to occur there in Col1&2. The Ezekiel reference to rapture is disputed, also. So, let the reader decide. I do know there is a reference to "step by step" in Rev that would also appear to deflate rapture doctrine--but honestly, the reason i abandoned it was the fruit--the type of believer the two doctrines produce is night and day, not unsimilar to the preterist/posterist thing.
For what it's worth, the "saved by faith or works" thing seems to also have some bearing on it. I don't know this, but it seems to me that rapturists are always "saved by faith" and, obviously, posterists as well. I honestly don't pay any of it too much attention, as they seem more like needless divisions to me than anything else. No one can prove any one of the six different positions conclusively from Scripture. |

This thread has made my day!
Gut wrenching hilarious. |

But no that was way b.c. Im so glad that there are normal people here that can laugh once in a while. "Life is to seroius, to walk on the beach looking for money. Slow and easy glide out in the ocean. Wait for the next swell. And ride bro ride." That's what my papa used to say growing up. I think it just means relax God is in control. Hey Evangelist pass the pineapple! Lol |

Re: Preterism or Maui Wowii
funny how people, believers, adopt positions on one of the...countless? dichotomies in Scripture, and seem to ignore that the sheer number of them is a message in itself.

I did Mike...... I capitulated and became a preterist while smoking the metaphor weed..... I just posted the things you WISH you could post! Want a hit?:woot LOL |
Watch all the ways and posts you will write to say anything except the answer to my question. This proves you cannot deal with the truth of the issue.
Count the ways, folks. I asked the same question weeks ago. No answer. There never will be an answer from you. The answer destroys your entire end time belief. I would not answer it either if I was dishonest. Lol Nothing more need be said. |
Re: Preterism or Maui Wowii
Folks, have you noticed that Mike will not deny that the Temple, Jews and their religion burnt up with fervent heat?
Maybe he is not hitting on the metaphor bong like he used to? Dude, Mike, take a big loooong hit and tell us if you believe the Temple, Jews and their religion melted with fervent heat, like I saw when I hit on the metaphor bong....Cough, cough..... LOL |

Weren't you the guy who took his socks and rolled them up in the Big Bambu rolling paper that came in the old Cheech and Chong album? I guess the effects of old sweaty socks inhaled through the lungs when you were young has caught up to you. But we will pray for your disability, maybe the Lord will bless you with one of Brother Bernard's Bible studies on tithing so you will find the good way, and walk in it with a clear head while you support the local work near you. :) |

Do you also huff paint thinner? Seeing trails? Seeing red? My lands Hoss! Is that what you do before you get those sweet love fellowship Bible studies going? I heard about what some of you ex-junkies did over in California. Were you with the Mason family? Hung out in Height Ashbury, listened to the Grateful Dead while you tripped and imagined horsemen that looked like locust with teeth like lions with long flowing hair? Giant vampire women drinking down golden beer mugs filled with blood while riding a red dinosaur? |
Re: Preterism or Maui Wowii
The Futurist position removes Christ from you in time; Christ comes riding in on a horse someday. While surely even a preterist does not deny that the future kingdom will be different than it is today, and that the promises will come to pass, on earth as in heaven, the view allows for Christ among us in a way that the futurist view seems to neglect. Futurism abdicates personal responsibility. I have heard put all your cares upon Jesus abused in this way.
But the kicker is how...rabidly? those with such literal views seem to defend it, and refuse to even consider that The Revelation reveals Spirit, and so must be considered in a spiritual light. This view forces other absurd assumptions, that we began in incest, Able with his sisters, etc. It fosters eschatology, those virtually astrological prognostications of endless immanent disasters with looming dates :lol |
Re: Preterism or Maui Wowii
It turns you from a creator, manifesting, into a finger-pointer, showing everyone where they are doing it wrong, and looking for sin and imperfections.

don't you mean "la la la la?"

Re: Preterism or Maui Wowii
you might review the futurist position somewhere; i don't think that reps their ideas too accurately. Does it?

Re: Preterism or Maui Wowii
The view of Preterism requires much faith more than church dispensationalism. My problems will soon be taken care of.(simple a child can relate) But these guys have a "just deal with it, make the best out of it" hopeless doctrine. Like the kids that are kidnaped, growing up in the home of a stranger. Just learn to cope with the situation.
All preterist can be happy over is " look, awe man I can out quote him, or my doctrine is right" Didn't you see me get him oh man I'm awesome" that's all they have, the reward in this life. How you can line it out. It is obvious you love your doctrine more than you love your God. Lolo I say. |

Where did Jesus speak of seven ages of time? Where did Paul speak of them other than Ephesians 3:2? Which isn't speaking of a time but of administration of ministering grace. So, we don't love God, and we have house church because it just an excuse? You know something, I have dealt with many individuals who say Post Tribulation is wrong, Pre Wrath is wrong, Partial to Full Preterism is wrong, and even Dispensationalism. But, all they do is just say its wrong, but hardly ever want to answer questions themselves. You might think what I believe concerning eschatology is all wrong, but we don't know how you interpret what you believe? You hide behind the happy Hawaiian lingo, and talk a bunch of smack, while you make out like you're some ultra Pentecostal. Guess what, time proves all things, and when you and I leave this world then all Bible discussion and debates are finto. Just try to be less of a nitwit while your here on earth and I will do my up most to do the same thing. ;) If you aren't prepared to come to the eschatology section and answer some of my questions about what you believe, then be good enough to mind your manners. :) |

Please allow me to interpret. (Not as Sean might do) Interpretation: "Preterism. I don't know how to refute it, so I will attack it. I realize those that propose it sure seem to have a lot of scriptures to support their positions, but it's not what I've been taught, therefore I oppose it. When that fails, I will make a personal attack and suggest they don't really love God like I do, especially since I can't find the scriptures to prove them wrong. So attack and slander is all I have." |
