UPCI Headquaters Relocation
Super excited about the future of our great organization. After being located at 8855 Dunn Road since 1970, UPCI WEC is relocating to Weldon Springs Missouri. We will make the transition by 2017, and will be nearly completely debt free.
God is up to something!! http://x.lnimg.com/photo/poster_1920...90d1fa6af2.jpg |
Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
I wonder how close this will be to the toxic waste stored at Weldon Spring?

Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
I was wondering if they will have a bookstore and open up a museum at the new location?

How nostalgic! Having church in a tent! Hey it's a year long revival! YEAH!!!
|
Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
That looks like a nice move that is way overdue from all accounts. The FB page says the building was "acquired". I assume this means they purchased it and are not leasing?
|
Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
Very nice building. Happy for them.

Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
I somehow thought it would be shaped like a pyramid.

Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
Looks very nice! :)

A pyramid! Nothing like a pyramid scheme to really generate the old cash! |
Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation

Have you ever had an aggessive panhandler get in your face?
Or better yet, get in your wife and kids faces, because they didn't see a man there. Tell me, how many panhandlers a day do you give money to? |

Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
Trust me, panhandling is very uncomfortable, if you are the victim!
I have been approached many times .....the first couple times I gave money. Then I realized the hard luck story was nearly the same every time:( In our fair city it has happened in retail parking lots as well as busy intersections with a median at traffic lights. Sorry, most of these folks make lots of money begging, more profitable than actually working!! It's been many years since I was in St Louis. WEC location was fine in years past but neighborhoods change. Twenty years in same house and believe me___Our area just aint the same:) |
When I lived in St Louis for a time, I was told the motel next to WEC was notorious for prostitution and drugs and cops were always responding to calls there.
IIRC, the Urshans had a home next to or near the WEC. |

Boo Hoo I am scared of human interaction.

Why would you let your wife or kids go to an area where they would encounter panhandlers that would make them feel, frightened, intimidated or fearful? |

I can tell you the story, but you obviously want to attempt to put me on the defensive by blaming me, for a panhandlers actions. Really? Ridiculous. |
Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
You people slamming the UPC for moving their HQ out of a dangerous neighborhood are being ridiculous. I fully agree that we should have ministry to those neighborhoods and the homeless, etc but to expect the entire HQ staff to risk their life every day to go to work is nuts.

Our church has a homeless ministry that feeds several hundred homeless people breakfast every Saturday and Sunday morning (a hot breakfast of eggs, bacon, etc) and then we donate time and money to several homeless shelters / ministry's in town as well. I am sure virtually every town in America is like mine where a homeless person will not starve to death if they avail themselves of the church and NGO help available on any given day. |

Tell me, how many panhandlers a day do you give money to? I answered two of your questions. I thought they were ridiculous. The other question I answered with a question kind of. I don't let my wife go to areas that she would be harassed or harmed (I know that is subjective but for the most part we live in a pretty safe comfortable area). You don't want to answer my question, fine. That is what is the problem with people. They ask questions and expect an answer but refuse to answer any questions for you. You obviously want to attempt to put me on the defensive by blaming me for a panhandlers actions. I had nothing to do with what a panhandler did to you. |
Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
I am not slamming the UPC or anybody else. I have been to the bookstore (UPC headquarters) at least two to three times a year for the last 15 years. I have relatives that live a couple miles from there. I don't know what your guys are talking about. I have never seen anybody but Oneness Pentecostals on the property. I don't go there every day but this is all news to me. If it truly is that bad I am happy that they are moving.

Now, as to "letting" my wife go to areas, if you live in a major, metro area, you cannot avoid those areas. I could answer your question with numerous examples, but why? Let's just say we see the issue from different perspectives and move on. God Bless. |

Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
I think it is funny in a kind of sad way that something as simple as the UPCI HQ relocating after over 40 years in the same location is something that would bring criticism.
If they negotiated a good deal on the property and have the means to pay for it more power to them. I am pleased they will have a decent facility to operate out of. |
Re: UPCI Headquaters Relocation
I am happy that they are moving! It looks like God is blessing them!
I just want to know if they are throwing a party with food and beverages on the opening day? AND am I invited?? |
