Bible College or Seminary

If you could go back and make your decision, would you still have attended a Bible college (equiv. AA/not accredited) or would you have attended seminary
( M.M.;M.A.B.S.;M.A.C.E. ;M. Div.; ETC) ??

Not only vote, but explain why you voted for that which you voted for!!!

This poll is not private!!!

Ronzo 06-14-2007 12:25 PM

There wasn't an option for I got a bachelor's degree and I'm glad I did. :)

Is the poll for ministers only?

Just as Coonskinner chooses not to reveal his "apostles and prophets" due to the very likely probability that they'll be picked apart, I will also not reveal the institute I'm studying at for the very same reason... Sorry.

I went to Truman State University in Kirksville, MO and got a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.

I highly recommend the school. It is refreshingly conservative for a public university (the students, not the faculty).

Start taking some of the basic required courses at a community college. You'll be that much farther when you decide what you want to do.

Yeah. I find that most end up into something that they didn't really want anyway. Either way, the same amount of time is wasted, IMO.

Yeah, great idea.. but I think that soon I am... well, soon I may... uhhm.. well, I'm looking into something. If it goes through (I pray that it does) then I will not have any real time for school.

This poll is not private!!!

Your poll is based on the FALSE PREMISE that all Bible Colleges are not accredited and are the equivalent of an Associate of Arts degree. Therefore, your poll is not valid.

By 1991, 26 of the 75 US Bible colleges accredited with AABC had also obtained regional accreditation; seven were candidates. Though the role of AABC is appreciated and helpful, many colleges view the attainment of regional accreditation as important for the recognition and status it is alleged to bring. Some respondents, however, are concerned about the effect such a trend may have on the nature of general education programs. These fear that the expansion of general education will come at the expense of biblical/theological and professional studies. One study reported greater required general education units in dually-accredited schools, but no difference could be found on measures considered critical by most Bible college educators: biblical philosophy of general education, student involvement in ministry, requirement of Bible majors for all students, and preparation for some form of ministry, whether lay or professional. So, you're saying the UPC is not in the real world?

You are really good at reading into things. Do you feel that it is your God-given-mission to correct people? Do you wear a badge?

I didn't read anything into anything. I ASKED A QUESTION. I'm sorry that you're incapable of telling the difference. And excuse me for having taken your original post to mean exactly what you wrote instead of reading into it!

I'll reword it. If you can go back, would you still attend a UPC Bible College?

Would you attend a Seminary (non UPC, because it doesn't exist [yet] ) ????

Attend a secular university?

Backpacking through Europe??

What are the spiritual benefits of attending a seminary? Are there seminaries where the professors are all Spirit-filled?

How would I know if the professors are Spirit-filled? Should I make a poll for that, too? :lol
