Sad Observation of Threads: LET'S CHANGE DIRECTION!
I know everyone's opening page will be different depending on how long it's been since they logged on but today I made a sad observation... on the front page when I logged on I found that 8 of the front 25 threads were either slamming the UPC or being used to disregard traditional Apostolic views of righteousness.
I find that incredibly sad. We have a good forum with a grand array of distinct views but, as much as I hate to say it, some of it is more antiApostolic than Apostolic. Let's change direction! How about some real threads of substance besides the grande old 'bread and butter' "I went to a UPC Church and met Count Dracula!" / "How to whack your hair off in 36 simple steps and still feel good about it" / "Will shacking up with someone in an act of Adultery really send you to Hell if you repent daily?" type of stuff. GOOD GRIEF! (Where's Charlie Brown when you need him?!? He says "GOOD GRIEF" so much better than I do.) |
And growing all the time... :IAM

I love theatrics.

So nothing negative about the UPC is permitted.... I understand now.

Steadfast,
As I mentioned the other day when Elder Epley started a similar thread if the conservatives and ultra cons would show back up and start some threads of their own there would not be this imbalance. |

Sorry, CC1... haven't been here much lately. BUT, I agree with you. I just hope any temporary imbalances (in either direction) don't make the other end of the spectrum bail out. When I got on and saw 8 of them on the top page it just kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Heaven knows what newcomers think. Gonna sit back now and watch the show... :girlpopcorn |

Standard threads have always been a part of freedom to speak on these forums and as you may have noticed over 90% of voters didn't see the pants on women issue as a heaven or hell issue. Consequently, I don't believe that standard threads are as Anti-Apostolic as some would like to think they are. I object to linking divergent views of standards with anti-Apostolic threads and willful sin threads. I further object to characterizing standards as "traditional views of righteouness" as if all who hold a different view of standards are unrighteousness. |
These Affirmation Statements..... are they about individuals or families?? :)

Miss Newman, I'm on this forum more than the traditional 'preacher' forum because I actually enjoy seeing different views discussed. Discussed is the key word there... something you're very good at. However, we have some that are completely satisfied to say, "It's that nasty ole' UPC's fault". That is what I'm against. |

Also, It appears to me that most who post here (or at least those who voted on the church-going thread) are Apostolic or UPC. I don't see many posting who are "antiApostolic." Unless "Steadfast" is saying that he thinks those who do not stick to traditions are "antiApostolic," (to which I disagree). |

The forum ebbs and flows. Bro. Epley can not be expected to hold the fort all by himself. Send in the reinforcements! It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness. |

Ownership has no bearing on the degrade of topics recently. 90% of WHAT voters- How many voted. This is not 90% of Pentecost. Surely you are much smarter than to quote bad poll percentage as fact. Or do you do so simply to build your side only? :poloroid |
