Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
Thanks Lily Mar....that is Raul Jr's daughter.
I just like to tease some of my friends here about women preachers...They don't believe in them but are nice to me and one in particular really seemed concerned about me when I was so sick. I am a happy person by nature and try to be friends with everyone that wants to be a friend....my JW friend told me they were having communion at their Kingdom Hall....(since they believe only 144 thousand will be in heaven only those with the heavenly hope can take it the earth dwellers do not) I asked her how many took it and she said only one in their meeting place. I said, Oh, I will bring a bus load from our church! We all have the heavenly hope! That is me....lol... |
Re: For my anti women preacher friends....

I Corinthians 14:34,35
34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? |
Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
obviously misinterpreted imo, if a woman is permitted to prophesy.

BROTHER ALVEAR:
"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord." One of the first things I taught my wife was the difference between the Ministry and preaching. She asked me about it, because the Sisters did not seem to know the difference. Due to that confusion, some Sisters were having problems in their marriage: basically, that misunderstanding clouded their understanding of "submission" and "subjection". By rejecting their submission to their OWN husbands "...as unto the Lord...", they were did in fact rejecting their "subjection" to the Lord, Himself! Have you not heard that one who exercises the gift of prophesy is not necessarily a prophet; but a prophet must necessarily prophecy? Well, in the same manner, one who preaches is not necessarily a Minister, but a Minister must preach! Saul of Tarsus was not in the Ministry, but he PREACHED the gospel. He knew the Word so well, he was later called a TEACHER in the ministry. The Lord would later change his name to Paul, after calling him to be an apostle. My words to my wife was meant to keep the Church in submission, and let the women take their rightful place in the Church; and allow the men, also, to take their rightful place at home. "If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord." |
Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
Well...this is not to discuss women preachers...lol...and believe me you would not want my husband to be here...
Just told a cute story....and by the way I am friends with those that do not believe in women in ministry... I am not looking for a church to pastor .... my husband is the pastor in our family....I just like to tease....Yes I do believe in women in ministry came up under Sister Agnes Holmes...She was a wonderful preacher....Doubt if there would have ever been FPC in North Little Rock without her...She was a solid rock.... |

Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
BROTHER ALVEAR:
I'm sorry to see that you are not able to be here to respond to my post (I hope that you are well). I doubt that you, as a man of God (if you are called into the Ministry, or otherwise), would knowingly allow anyone to rip any pages out of the Bible that would not agree with your "personal" opinion(s), nor would YOU do so. I believe, also, that you understand the difference between preaching and teaching. I remember how my (then future) wife once asked me, regarding the "hair" question. I asked her how she wanted me to respond: whether of my personal opinion, or what the scripture taught. She replied that she wanted to know the scriptures, so I replied in kind. Although she did become upset with my answer (I also asked her to pray about it), she went home, prayed about it, and the Lord did answer her. She obeyed the Lord, and she has been blessed for her obedience. Listen, she was NOT obedient to me, but to the Lord! Now This, Brother Alvear: When a woman speaks in the Church, or asks another man (including the Ministry!) guidance or advice, she dishonors her head (that is, her husband): for she would be placing ANOTHER MAN in her husband's stead. She is declaring and/or making public her husbands ignorance (to her, that is). She is in effect playing the role of a harlot! Not to be contentious: search the scriptures and see if this is not so. "But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God." |

Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
Sorry, first because he hates forums...second because he "might" be very plain in his answer since he is a foreigner...He is more pro women preachers than I really am...lol....now you would have to know us to understand that answer....
|
Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
I really didn't want to turn this into a debate. But I'm plain and I'm an American.
The no woman preacher issue is also plain. If your husband gets upset that he can't prove women leading and teaching men, I understand. Jesus had no women apostles. If women would of meant to be foundational leadership you would of had one in the 12. Love you Sister Alvear, you focus on Getting better. We are keeping you in prayer. |
Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
He had rather not debate...He is just not the debating type...no harm meant....He believes in them and he feels the Bible backs him up....Not maybe to the point where he believes a woman knocks over a man to rule but he believes God uses women in ministry....and I did not put this thread to debate....only to tease my friends....
Thanks for the many prayers of many of you....we may not agree on every little point but our purpose is to win souls...Love all you folks.... |
Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
*Any man that allows "women preachers" is in direct rebellion to crystal-clear God-breathed Scripture...not to mention the women who actually do this.
*How on earth anyone w. a Bible in their hands could actually say the Scriptures support "women preachers" must be reading from 2 Jude :happydance? *No worries, we'll be here to correct the outright biblical error(s) & gross misinformation being pedaled as long as God will grant us the breath to do so :thumbsup. *Was that "plain" enough:heeheehee? |

Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
Quote:
"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Widows in the Lord would most likely already know those things; while the unmarried might be new to the things of God. Today there are women in the Church that have not married, but nevertheless need to be taught the ways of a good and faithful wife and mother. Of course, it is incumbent upon a man to be able to teach HIS OWN wife at home...or at the very least LEARN TOGETHER with his wife and children. NOW THIS: Any man (not excluding the Ministry) who will be the head (authority) over another man's wife has a spirit of adultery exalting itself "...against the knowledge of God...". |
Re: For my anti women preacher friends....
Thousands and thousands of people on the mission fields all over the world would have never heard the gospel had it not been for a woman missionary....not so much now but in years gone by....
