Dualing Prophecies

Just read two posts on FB from people who claim to be prophets and made claims as to what God told them will be happening in the very near future.

The first prophet said God told him America will be brought to its knees in silence due to a great shaking which will happen next month. "California will be greatly shaken in July."

The second prophet said God showed her a lion and an eagle "walking side by side." She claims God told her that America and the UK will be restored to greatness. There will be both a spiritual and natural restoration. She claims there will be radical change for good because of these two countries being restored to greatness.

Personal prophecy ? Real life prophets ?

I have met a few false prophets. But I have never met a real one.

These weren't limited to an individual, one was posted to his followers on FB and the other was sent out in an email her subscribers.

Speaking of prophecy, watch the confusion over BREXIT and where that fits into prophecy now. I "predict" tomorrow will see many congregations hear pastors mention it in terms of eschatology.

"California, Oregon and Washington." The earthquake will happen during the days of "July 18 to the 22nd." "Waters will lower in Hawaii," "a tsunami will hit Japan." "Cities will fall in California." "San Francisco will be reduced to rubble." "The East coast will also have a major earthquake."

Well...

No? The first was doom and gloom. America being practically destroyed by earthquakes on both coasts. The second is good news. America will be restored to greatness. Rainbows and unicorns and happy happy happy.

This must be interpreted spiritually.

These interpretations are of course merely suggestions. Prophecy is not meant to be predictive, just confirmatory (after the fact). Buy my book.

Prophets should focus on perceiving and relaying the mind of God rather than "predicting". The "prophetic revival" infiltrating mainstream Pentecost today is a movement of false prophets, to be certain. A genuine prophet of God is a preacher of righteousness. Holiness and the fear of God is the heartbeat of his message. And a genuine prophet does not play the "guessing game".

so the first "profit" was watching TV where they were talking about some recent changes in the San Andreas fault.

the second "profit" ate some bad pizza too late at night.

Its time for the church to reject profits and get down on their knees and pray.

Agabus was predictive and it came true. Prophets i know are deliberately vague as to avoid accountability for their messages. They are as slippery as a used car salesman.

you know Profits. Not Prophets.

The Prophets I have known never called themselves such. The were thrust forward by other great men who walked close to God and recognized His hand on their lives.

The gift of The Word of Knowledge is not the office of Prophet. It is a gift given by God. I am afraid that some men given a gift have turned that gift to their own profit and called themselves to offices that God has not.

A prophet might from time to time speak a word that directs to some future event but that is not the focus of his work. NOR is it to speak words of knowledge to folk. He is called of God to reveal sin and drive the people of God to their knees.

I am saddened that we have to deal with this but I guess it is no different from what Paul dealt with in his writings where he pointed out those who had turned the Gospel to their own profit.

The preaching of repentance if for every one who preaches the gospel, not just prophets.

What about the daughters of Philip who were prophets? Acts 21:9 This man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.

(1) The preaching of THE GOSPEL is for the whole Church;

(2) Phillips' daughters were NOT called prophets, but that they
"prophesied".

Anna was a prophetess.

Luk 2:36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

I didn't say preaching repentance. I said revealing sin... all preachers preach conviction. Prophets reveal sin. very different things....

and what about the daughters of Philip? They prophesied. Its in the bible. I believe the bible.

are you trying to start a Lady Man Of God debate? :)

My great grand mother was one of those. If it were not for her, I would not know this precious gospel. I don't get in those debates. I know the Truth because a woman 4 generations before me was a preacher of Righteousness. period. end of discussion.

Prophesying is simply inspired speaking God's word by inspiration from His Spirit. Why pigeonhole it to something less?

Are you insinuating . . . what?

Anna did indeed prophesy: but was she numbered among the Levites? Of
course not!
King Saul also prophesied: but was he counted among the prophets? No!

I guess this must be repeated until whomever finally believes:

The gift of prophecy does not place one in the Ministry; however, a
prophet must surely prophesy!

She was a prophetess. period. a female prophet. no ifs ands or buts. she wasn't just a woman who prophesied. she had a title. prophetess.

I'm insinuating nothing. just saying what the bible said about her. whoever has a problem with that has a problem with the word.

So were you LITERALLY baptized with the formula in Matt.: 28:19?
How did that work out for you?
