In 1975 the band Grateful Dead released an album titled Blues for Allah.

Which doesn't paint the Muslims in a favorable light, and definitely slams the god of Islam. So, why didn't the Muslims head hunt Jerry Garcia? Kurt Westergaard draws a cartoon of an Arab with a bomb in his turban? He called it Muhammad, and gets a devotee to chop on him in 2010? Were Muslims kinder and gentler back in 75? Or were they just into the Dead?

Arabs have been a problem since the days of George Washington, but the ones we have to deal with today emerged from President Carter's success at organizing the warring Arab nations to form OPEC.

George dealt with Barbary Pirates. Who happened to be Muslims. Muslims who captured other Muslims as well as Christians for slave trade.

It was Thomas Jefferson. And when diplomats were sent, they were told bny the "Barbary Pirates" that as infidel they were available for slavery so deal with it.


Incidentally the "Barbary Pirates" were in fact the agents of the Dey's (local Ottoman Leader) of Algiers and Morocco.
