I don't do the "goodbye cruel world posts", but with the current admin attitude, I am losing interest here.
Never been on a forum where the admins regarded themselves as the "thread police", before.

:thumbsup:thumbsup

I will return after this settles down. No one here is acting any different than they always have. I don't need a nanny. Just sayin'....

Go look at the closed thread in the political news section about the pastor taking a stand against trump, then tell me what's ridiculous.

The proper thing to do would have been to contact admin, not start a thread.

Derailing a member's thread is disrespectful of the person who created the thread. We don't and can't catch every thread this happens in, but the fact it's AFF's bread and butter, should tell us all that there is a lot of disrespect floating around these here parts (Granted some don't really care that much about their own threads; but then again, some care a great deal, and it bothers them, and it gets expressed to us admins, sometimes privately. Should we be partial then, and try to mind-read who does and doesn't care all that much? Or be impartial and try to keep as many threads on task as possible in the event the person who created it does care but doesn't speak up?).

The fact is, not a soul is stopping anyone from creating their own thread to discuss the side issues raised in this, or any other thread. But some of you never even think to do so, you just go ahead and tank someone else's thread with whatever comes to mind.

And when an admin tries to get things back to form, I get one apology (thanks, EB!) and a lot of gruff otherwise.

Do I need to log-in to the admin log-in every time to handle a situation just to appease some of you? Shall I send out infractions for openly challenging an admin, as some of you have done repeatedly over the last few days? Or should I let it slide?

Hey, I'm just Aaron from podunk/cow-town Wisconsin. No one here owes me squat. There are no strings attached here, as far as "me" is concerned. But since you all signed up and agreed to the rules and regulations for membership, you all have an obligation to this forum and the admins who help and oversee it, to do what you agreed to do when you signed up. My obligation is to oversee the forum to the best of my ability, within the parameters granted to me through my admin-ship.

If that is too totalitarian for you, you can create your own forum here:

https://www.proboards.com/

And run it however you please.

But going forward, there are going to have to be some changes, because some of you are out of line right now, and you don't even see it.

I think the issues are apparent so I won't waste any more breath explaining them and/or publicly disagreeing with admin decisions (at least that's a forum rule...)

But maybe you can now understand why someone may decide to disregard that rule at this time?

Re: Administration

Well I'm trying to spend more time talking to people that are a more godly influence.

I haven't done a whole lot of that the last 4 years.

But godly isn't the only prerequisite...I want a place I feel comfortable and at home...A place where I can relax and be vulnerable and spontaneous.

If it starts to feel like every time I turn around I feel like I'm being scolded I'll move on.

It's no threat it's just less headache.

My life has been super chaotic lately and the last thing I need is drama and more headache.

No it's not about causing trouble and not submitting to authority it has everything to do with feeling out of place and walking on eggshells.

Aaron has a point.

I've been here (or should I say on the different morphings of FCF) since I got a call from Brother Jim Yohe asking me to come and talk about Eschatology. I have been banned, I've been scolded, but I never went wee wee wee all the way home. While a hurricane was b bopping it's way up the Florida coast, I was ejected from the forum. Because they believed I said something about a particular kid attached to a particular person. A thread was then started of some celebrating my hiatus, some wanting to know my side ( a novel idea in modern Christianity) and others who couldn't care less. When I was let out of solitary confinement to return to population I answered those who wanted to hear my side. It was complete. Everything returned to the way it was, and postings continued. You see, sometimes your the windshield and sometimes your the bug, in life everyone gets a chance to take a beating. Whether it's deserved, or undeserved. It happens, life isn't fair. So, on a forum someone else is fitting the bill, and they keep it going. We are guests, and if the owner believes some said something that they didn't like, well he or she discusses it with their administers. If they think I needed to get ejected, then so be it. If they think I need to be called out for something and corrected, then by all means let it be so.

What I like to know, is when did this country become an army of snivelers? :heeheehee

Love you all! Next time you are in Fort Louder Dale, stop by the house and i'll make you some bacon.

Although I did not start this thread, I did contact admin.
Yesterday and today.
Received no response.
Although admin had time for more postings on threads...
Just went and read forum rules again.
Saw nothing on there about staying on thread topic.
I do agree that this is a tempest in a teapot.
But, this issue DOES need addressed by admin.
Are we only allowed to submit posts that pertain to the thread topic?
And if this is the case, it needs to be so stated in the forum rules and enforced.
Not enforced at selected or random times.

So, does trimming split ends qualify as "short hair"?
