Why Won't He Let Me Find My Biological Father?

"God can do anything..."
"If He can't do it, it can't be done..."
"Ask in sincerity..."
"Believe..."

Sometimes in church I have to fight bitterness. The preacher says something, everyone amens it, but it's been a long time and I used to be encouraged when reminded that God can and God will...

Fighting cynicism on the church pew.

It's not about why won't He do XYZ. Or why did He allow XYZ.

In everything give thanks, and all things work to the good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. My wife has friends who are Amish. She spoke extensively with a relative of the little girls who were murdered at a Amish school house. Their act of forgiveness is memorable in a time when people don't forgive. Now keep in mind that their religion dictates that they forgive. Meaning it is a Church rule. Therefore there isn't a question whether you want to or not. You must forgive. Yet, the Bible is clear on forgiveness, we must forgive because we are forgiven. Yet, you can't legalistically forgive and expect it to be worth anything. Time proves all things and we must allow Jesus to work on us.

That could be true....we tend to idealize parental figures...my dad lost his father when he was 5....Ive spent my whole life watching him scramble after a father figure.

Sadly it sometimes causes them not to be a father figure to others.

Never met my dad and don't know who he is. My mom was taken in very easy, especially in her younger days. My grandparents took me in at the age of 2 to keep human services off my mom's back. Although, I don't feel bitter I still have to sometimes manage my emotions. We can all get the "woe is me" complex, but all things work together for the good. I am thankful to had grandparents who brought me up in the fear of the Lord. It is a little late in life for me to worry about my dad, my children need me to be a strong stable dad. God has helped me to be a father in my home.

I have been married for almost 14 years and have two wonderful children, but a person has to make up their mind that they aren't going to go down that road their parents lived on. We must pattern our lives in a way that pleases God.

JD, seems like you have done well in spite of the absence of your father. You must trust that all things do things work together for the good. You are the person you are today because of the roads you have been down. No matter how you started you can finish strong.

We just adopted a baby who just turned 1. We fostered him for 10 months until then. He is family of my wife but his biological parents are both druggies.

His dad is black and mom is Mexican.

His dad is a drug dealer that they call snow. Doesn't want the responsibility of another baby, he is also a pimp. Has several women in his "stable".

What would you suggest we do with this awesome little baby? We have collected some newspaper clippings so when he gets older we can tell him if he asks but......

If God has not let you know then maybe you don't want to. Thank God for the kind parents He did give you and live for Him in obedience to the Word. In ALL things give thanks.

Jermyn, it is vile out there. Thank God you were raised in Church.

My Mom plainly told me that he wasn't a good man.

Still, I want to know him, for him to know me, to see what he looks like, get to know all about him, hug him, love him... hoping he will want to know me, know about me, love me.

I think I share too much on here-- real name and all... LOL

Hebrews 12 run the race with patience

I sat through the service.

At the end of the service, I went up for prayer and requested the Pastor to pray with me about finding him.

"I will remain confident in this I will see the goodness of the Lord!"

Truth is, I have seen His Goodness in so many other ways!

Yesterday, after paying my tithes and contributing to the offering, the Lord blessed me and allowed me to earn additional $100.00+ in about 5 hours!

That extra $100.00 was a prayer that GOD ANSWERED that I prayed after church! I prayed for the Lord to allow me to earn an extra $100.00 that afternoon, between 3:00pm and 11:30pm.

Driving for UBER part-time, it is not easy for me to earn that on a Sunday evening without anything special going on. It definitely is NOT my norm.

I made over $200.00 driving before and after church on Sunday-- yesterday!

That extra $100.00 was a prayer that GOD ANSWERED for me and I am grateful!

Good for you. I have been making just enough to cover fuel expenses driving for Uber.

Try courier work. If you have good gas mileage and know all the shortcuts, you can make good money.

That's something to look into. With Uber there's a lot of trial and error. Times. Locations. Etc.
It is interesting... some people will tell you their life story. Others will sit staring at the screen of their phones.
