*** The Diary of Brainwashed ***
September 19, 2017 Dear Diary, I’m tired of the rhetoric in Pentecost. I’ve addressed these issues before, and even discussed it with leadership and congregants. I’m weary of hearing pastors and lay-ministers preach over the pulpit, “God, send us to someone that we may share the gospel with them.” Oh diary, God once told me to ask them, “what’s wrong with sharing the gospel with their neighbors, family members, and people they pass in the groceries store?” I asked the brethren and they stayed quiet. They would like to believe they’re performing the will of God with their excessive programs, Christian concerts, fellowships, etc. But the fact remains they’re stagnant and remain in what they feel is comfortable, under the pretense that their doing God’s will, failing to realize they’re far from it! Above all else, the objective of God’s will for our life is to win souls before all else. If we’re not winning souls in our walk, we’re deviating from God’s will. I’m a firearms fanatic and own multiple firearms, and it was easy for me to spark up a conversation with strangers about firearms. Yet, one day God asked me, “how is it so easy for you to speak with strangers about firearms, yet so difficult to share the gospel?” I was deeply convicted and never have been the same since. Diary, I don’t want to be like all these Pentecostals. I want God to continuing molding me. Love, Brainwashed |

Not good form.
Sounds like... Luke 18:11 KJV The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. It's got the tone of putting others down to make a point, instead of just making a point without pointing to others. |

Above all else, the objective of God’s will for our life is to win souls before all else. If we’re not winning souls in our walk, we’re deviating from God’s will. Not true. We are not commissioned to "win souls" but rather to make disciples. Paul said it like this: "Christ sent me, not to baptise, but to preach the gospel." In other works, the mission is to proclaim the gospel, not "secure conversions". When we think "the purpose in life is to WIN SOULS" we inadvertently start thinking the ends justifies the means. The very problem you complain about - "programs" - are a result of "win souls is our mission" thinking. Our purpose is not to win anybody. It is to preach the gospel. God is responsible for converting people, not us. We are to be heralds, not salesmen. Fulfilling God's calling on one's life is not measured by the number of converts one gets, but by how faithful one has proclaimed the word to those around them. BTW, I dont think I have really heard too much of the kind of praying you mentioned, to be honest. It is usually "send somebody my way" or "direct me to those whom You have prepared", etc. There is nothing wrong with praying "Lord, send me to someone" unless it's an excuse to do nothing without some super big gigantic "impulse of the Spirit" or something. |

Esaias,
How are individuals made disciples? Someone must share the gospel with them, correct? Our mission is to share the gospel, and the byproduct of sharing the gospel is conversion. Essentially, conversion of individuals into God's kingdom is a soul "we won" to the Lord. Our purpose is to preach the gospel to every creature. There's no necessity to ask God to send us someone to share the gospel with when the majority of people you walk by every day are lost and going to hell! Heck, people have family members that are going to hell, and here they are asking God to send someone that they can share the gospel with. If imagining your mother, father, siblings, children, or others in hell for eternity, and you're still ask God to send you a soul so you can share the gospel, you should be asking God to break you and remold you! There's no self-exaltation is my posting. I even commented how it was easier for me to spark up conversations about firearms, but lacked sharing the gospel before God convicted me. There's no self-exaltation because I learned from my mistakes. Being repentant isn't being arrogant. |

You didn't answer my question. If the people in your church are so sub-par, even to the point of your pastor teaching the heinous doctrine of tithing and wasting their time praying for souls while God speaks to you about how inferior their prayers are....why are you still there?

And please don't dance around the questions. A simple yes or no will suffice. 1)You're behind a pulpit preaching about Israel's exodus, and how they saw God's miraculous power, and how they constantly deviated to serving idols and doubting god. 2)You then tell you're congregation that you didn't understand why Israel would revert to idols and doubting 3)You then say that after God manifested himself to you, you wouldn't be like the Israelites turning from God after you've seen God work in your life. My Questions to you: 1) Are you degrading the Israelites? 2) Are you being arrogant? 3) Are you comparing yourself to the Israelites? 4) Are you superior to the Israelites because you compared yourself to them? 5) Are you arrogant and/or superior because because you wouldn't act like the Israelites? 6) Are you arrogant for delivering a word from God and telling the people not be like the Israelites? 7) If your congregation erected an idol and began to worship it, would you be disappointed at your congregation for emulating the Israelites after you delivered your sermon on of the Israelites? I'm curious to know your answers. |

You are just a run of the mill "I need to be in the pulpit to straighten everyone out" kind of guy. The pastor isn't up to snuff for you so you have to get the joker out of the way so you can really get it done. |

Sure! I'll answer. Thereafter I'll be interested in you answering my questions. If I was exalting myself above Pentecostals with a self-righteous attitude, there's no doubt my comments would be associated with the Pharisee. However, after you answer my questions, you'll understand the source and attitude behind my comments. I will await your answers. |
Re: *** The Diary of Brainwashed ***
Brainwashed, you have a point, I agree. However, you added a bitter tone of grudging in it all. You still lack humility in all of this which is the result of bitterness. Your point is ruined by the remaining bitterness. If you would disregard your need to include how bad you think others are, and simply indicated to Go in your "diary" of YOUR faults and what YOU want God to do to you, it would be fine. But you just had to show bitterness by including the others you mention JUST LIKE THE PHARISEE.
