Apocalyptic Thoughts

Apocalyptic Thoughts Amid Nature’s Chaos?

CLEWISTON, Fla. — Vicious hurricanes all in a row, one having swamped Houston and another about to buzz through Florida after ripping up the Caribbean.

Wildfires bursting out all over the West after a season of scorching hot temperatures and years of dryness.

And late Thursday night, off the coast of Mexico, a monster of an earthquake.

You could be forgiven for thinking apocalyptic thoughts, like the science fiction writer John Scalzi who, surveying the charred and flooded and shaken landscape, declared that this “sure as **** feels like the End Times are getting in a few dress rehearsals right about now.”

Or the street corner preacher in Harlem overheard earlier this week ranting about Harvey, Irma and Kim Jong Un, in no particular order.

Ole J. Benedictow describes how he calculated that the Black Death killed 50 million people in the 14th century, or 60 per cent of Europe's entire population. The disastrous mortal disease known as the Black Death spread across Europe in the years 1346-53.

Below is a list of famines
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_famines

Futurists focus on "GREATEST" Tribulation. Everything leading up to that are birth pangs. But these birth pangs don't get greater, they fluctuate all over the place. Getting less if you were to place them on an actual graph. Studying out earthquakes, you will find that the record holding earth quake was in Chile May 22, 1960 measuring at 9.4–9.6. Nothing stronger than that one for 57 years, they get less in strength. Nothing ever registering at a 10 or above. Which scientists believe if we were to have an earthquake 10 or above it would compromise the crust of the earth. May possible cause a chain reaction destroying the planet.

150 million people died in wars in the last 150 years. The world is not getting better as you might think. We are now in a position of destroying our entire planet at the push of a button.

You must get your statistics the same place you get your Bible studies.

Of the past 3,400 years, humans have been entirely at peace for 268 of them, or just 8 percent of recorded history. At least 108 million people were killed in wars in the twentieth century. Estimates for the total number killed in wars throughout all of human history range from 150 million to 1 billion.

7.442 billion is the current population of the earth.

One push of a button can't get rid of you, therefore it can't destroy the entire planet. You don't preach Good News, you preach Bad News. Sean, do you attend a church? Do they still frown when you show up for service?

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

You are a nutjob.

You actually love the thought of people being destroyed.

May you be at ground zero when an asteroid or Intercontinental missile makes entry.

You must be use to people moving down a row when you come to church.

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

Not just local places, but random places around the globe.

The apostles had no way to monitor these earthquakes, but look who does now....

That was prior to the great destruction of Jerusalem. Sorry, but earthquakes were going to be felt by His audience. The rumors of wars were those of the Roman Empire coming to quell uprisings in Judea. Agabus had received the gift of prophecy, and predicted a severe famine which the author of Acts says occurred during the reign of the Roman Emperor Claudius. Also, according to Acts 21:10-12, 'a certain prophet', (Greek: τις) named Agabus met Paul the Apostle at Caesarea Maritima in 58 AD. Jesus is speaking of the unrest in the Roman world which His followers would soon see. Matthew 27:51-54 a great earthquake, Matthew 28:2, a great earthquake rolls away the stone of the tomb. Acts 4:31 a prayer meeting in Jerusalem and a earthquake. Acts 16:26 a great earthquake shook the jail. Everything happened just as Jesus said it would. :)

While others say this....

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

These will be the ones facing this....

Revelation 16King James Version (KJV)

16 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

So, Jesus was really saying.....

And when these things begin to come to pass in 2,000 years from now then they will look up, not you who I'm speaking to, but them 2,000 years from now. Then they will lift up their heads; for their redemption draweth nigh in 2,000 years from now.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is near.

Sean, Jesus is speaking to His audience in the present tense. If you can read you would notice that Jesus is answering their questions and telling them that their redemption is close. That's you Sean, because you don't understand what is going on in eschatology. You get upset, and can't control yourself. Mock the word of God? I'm not the one who believes that people will get sick and die when they are in heaven. That they have to eat leaves which have healing properties. You think that Revelation is totally literal but won't admit that you don't believe that there will be a literal woman riding a multi headed dinosaur? You pick and choose. When you are taken to task like JamesGlen did in his thread you show your hind end, and get kicked off the thread. Look at yourself.

You observe end time events? Signs of the End? Like the Jehovah Witnesses? Who have had to change their eschatology so many times it isn't even funny anymore? Hitler Antichrist to Obama Antichrist all wrong? We are supposed to follow the Word not the goof ball ramblings of doomsdayers who are always and I mean ALWAYS wrong. The Apostle were told why stand ye here gazing for the same Jesus will return in like manner as you seen Him go. That was a cloud, because the cloud represented God. Who met Aaron, Moses and Miriam in a cloud in the tent door. The presence of God was in the cloud. The cloud overshadowed Elijah, Moses, and Jesus. The cloud is God's presence. Yet, you don't know that and you don't care. Because your stupidity comes first in your life.

Sean, your dilemma is that Jesus had an audience He was dealing with. That audience had to be the ones receiving the WARNINGS. It's a warning Sean? Jesus tells them, WHEN YOU SEE ALL THESE THINGS. That YOU isn't you, but the people Jesus was talking to to.
