Kneel, or you're racist!
HuffPo has spoken, the narrative becomes clearer - any white footballer who refused to kneel during the national anthem, and chose to stand instead, stood for white supremacist racism

I really, really, wish that the folks on the left would not take things so far-- in rhetoric, in condemnation, in action. Generally speaking, LIBERALS do the most damage to the causes for which they are most passionate. Educated adults shouldn't allow themselves to constantly be driven by emotion. |

If our media is to be blamed for any of our societal ills, THIS clearly reflects their guilt: in their attempt to make more money, they strive to appeal to their individual consumer markets in ways that would never encourage thoughtful and constructive discourse. They make money off of our division and their profits are more important than our unity. |

Re: Kneel, or you're racist!
How many of these idiots at Huffpo take a knee?
|
Re: Kneel, or you're racist!
Those who don't take a knee aren't racists.
They simply don't care about the plight of fellow citizens who have suffered excessive force or even unnecessary death at the hands of a militarized and often trigger happy law enforcement. |
Re: Kneel, or you're racist!
Show me one credible study that shows bias in police shootings.

I'd like to know why there aren't more prosecutions for cops who use lethal force when it wasn't called for.

Re: Kneel, or you're racist!
None of this is called for. And you'll notice... it's bigger than racism. It's the militant mindset of certain "bad apples" who have badges.
That's why everyone should take a knee and demand that law enforcement be held accountable. We should be disgusted and dedicated to rooting out those in uniform who shouldn't have a badge. |

Re: Kneel, or you're racist!
In this age of technology, much of this is caught on camera on a daily basis. Many police departments are re-examining policies to address this stuff.

I'm not saying that all cops are bad. In fact, I'd say that the majority are good cops. But the bad cops shape the public perception and make things even more dangerous for the good cops. Then add in the politics in the departments, and things get crazy.

Re: Kneel, or you're racist!
What we can't do is...
Claim that all cops are bad. Claim that excessive use of force, including deadly force, is only against minorities (we're all in danger here). Ignore that there are many bad cops. Ignore that department policies, politics, and the justice system often works in the favor of bad cops. Ignore that something should be done. Ignore that any one of us could find ourselves staring down the barrel of trigger happy cop's gun for one false move or misspoken word over some minor infraction. We're Americans. They work FOR us. They aren't a standing army to police and punish us. Somewhere along the way they've been turned into a standing army to police and keep the American people walking the line, a line that gets narrower and narrower with every new law and regulation that chips away at personal liberty. Sadly, I'm more worried when being pulled over by a cop on a bad side of town than I am changing a tire on the bad side of town. So, let's all remember to keep waving our flags and singing "God Bless America"... but above all, remember, no sudden moves... or you could easily wind up dead. |
Re: Kneel, or you're racist!
Anyone here ever been tailed by a cop who followed you for an unbelievable amount of time until you messed up and gave him a reason to pull you over?
Anyone here ever been tailed by a cop who followed you for an unbelievable amount of time until he gave up because you didn't make a mistake that would give him a reason to pull you over? Like one cop said during an interview, with the way the laws are written, it's nearly impossible to drive your car across town without giving a cop a reason to pull you over. My friends, that's by design. They need a legal reason to act. And there are thousands of little laws that make it nearly impossible to avoid giving a cop a reason to stop you. And if you happen to do well jumping all those hoops, your effort to do so will give them just cause because now you're behaving in "suspicious" manner. I wouldn't be surprised if one day there's a law passed making it illegal to lead off with one's left foot while at the cross-walk. And guess what... someone would eventually be stopped over it, words exchanged, intentions misunderstood, and people blown away over it. It's not a racial thing. But it's real. And we're all in the same boat. A trigger happy cop will blow you away over one false move just as quickly as other cops have blown away other people for reaching for their wallets after being asked for a license. |
Re: Kneel, or you're racist!
True story:
A man was doing yard work, so he wasn't looking his Sunday best. His kids were at grandma's, who lives about 8 houses down the street. She called him and told them that they were ready to come home. He starts walking down the street to her house and a little over half-way, out of nowhere he hears, "WOOP! WOOP!", and a cop pulls up next to him and asks him what he's doing and where he's going. He states that he is walking down to his mother-in-law's house to pick up his kids. The cop asks if he has his license or ID. He doesn't have it on him because he was doing yard work and his wallet was on the table on the foyer of his house. The cop asks him his name and where he lives and begins running his name. At that time, his kids see him and he hears "Daddy! Daddy!", as they run up to greet him. The officer looks "disappointed" as he "click-ity-clack-ities" on the computer in his car and sarcastically says, "Well, I guess it's your lucky day.", and drives off. Ummm... what gives??? You're not allowed to walk down the street of your own neighborhood to pick up your kids anymore? |
Re: Kneel, or you're racist!

This is typical of most of these videos who claim police brutality. Cop has reason to pull them over and then the suspect becomes belligerent and refuses to comply, which then leads to the officers having to resort to LAWFUL use of force. |

I'll give you a link to a study link https://scholar.harvard.edu/fryer/pu...lice-use-force snippet On the most extreme use of force –officer-involved shootings – we find no racial differences in either the raw data or when contextual factors are taken into account. The head of this study is an African-American who admitted that he expected to find bias. |

The tags were run, lawfully, and did not come back with any information. Why is that? Defense attorneys, prosecutors and even Ayala herself has stated that the stop was legal and the officers acted within their lawful duty. Ayala claims her tags are confidential, but legally registered. Good stop. Officers were courteous and respectful. Nothing to see here. |
