Do you read long Biblical posts?
Just wondering how many people here actually read all the way through long posts with lots of biblical content?

Re: Do you read long Biblical posts?
No. I try. I can’t.

Re: Do you read long Biblical posts?
50/50. It really depends on the content, or theme of the thread and whether or not I'm following or participating. Occasionally, it comes down to the poster, if taking the time to read all the way through is worth it to me.
As Admin, however, I make every effort to at least heavily skim the longer posts, if I'm not already reading them in full, just to keep an eye on where things are. |
Re: Do you read long Biblical posts?
I do depending on the topic and who is posting.

The people who say the most, generally have the least to say. That being said, I frequently do read & enjoy Esaias' and Elder Benincasa's posts.

Re: Do you read long Biblical posts?
Usually, if the topic interests me and especially when some of you specific individuals post. I've read some awesome stuff here from a hand full of you guys. Even after 29 years of being Pentecostal, I've come to believe that we never stop learning. I'm so very appreciative for the time and effort many of you put into some of these posts. Every now and again a post gives me quite a bit to think about and I have to just sit back and contemplate it. So, if it seems like a drop out of a discussion for a bit, that's most likely what happened.
God bless and keep you my brothers and sisters. |
Re: Do you read long Biblical posts?
I will (usually) read the passage unless I am really familiar with it to the point that I don't feel that I need to read it again to know what it says. In this case I will skim over it and plug it into the discussion, (in my mind) and consider the relevance and the context. Of course, as others have mentioned, I will also weight this with the source of the thought.

I skim. Sometimes it works.

Only if [you] wrote it.

Re: Do you read long Biblical posts?
Thanks, I never knew you [you] admired my posts so much.

Re: Do you read long Biblical posts?
One important aspect that I take into consideration is how well the post is formated. Are quotes from the Holy Scriptures clearly delineated? Is the HTML being used properly? How about punctuation and grammar?
There might be something good in a post, but when the presentation of the material is a mess, it's a turn off for me. |

Esaias,
I just read your lengthy posts on the Enoch thread. |
