No... :tease Actually, I'm speaking to a group of young women and need the reference for one of the points that I want to make. Pray for me..... My viewpoints and beliefs may not be very popular with this younger generation. :heeheehee

Well... I was sure that I've read it before. It may not be in those exact words, but that was my interpretation..... :dunno

OR maybe it is one of those "every tub has to sit on its own bottom" scriptures... You know the "cleanliness is next to Godliness" kind... :heeheehee The ones that really aren't scripture - but some people think they are. :heeheehee

HeavenlyOne 02-21-2007 09:45 PM

It's in the same chapter where 'Cleanliness is next to godliness' and 'Women wearing pants is a sin' are found.

:D

Actually cleanliness is next to clean in my dictionary. Godliness was in the G's

I don't think there is a verse that says a man is to be the priest over his home. But I think the qualifications of a Christian Bishop and a Christian Deacon would apply to Christian men in general.SEE 1.TIM.chapter 3.Also 1COR.11.:3 teaches the man is the head over the woman,so a man would be a spiritual leader over his home.

I think Anthony Mangun wrote that scripture. Perhaps you can call or email him for the official reference. He has promoted this concept since I worked with him in Plano, TX back in 1979. He uses it more as a principle of scripture than as a specific scripture.

So how did your conversation go with those young ladies?

Sweet Pea 02-22-2007 07:41 AM

I haven't had it yet.... If you have nothing to pray about, you can pray for me that something I have to say will touch someone that that God will use me... :ty It is later this week.

This thread should have been all the inspiration she needed for a good Biblical topic. Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not .... You know!:tease

It may not be popular, but it is truth! And some will probably not like the thought I bein gin submission but when you speak God's Word out of love and lay it out for them biblically, God has a way of getting deeper into their thoughts and saying more than we can say.......

I was just guessing you were speaking about submission here. If not you can correct me... There are lots of people who automatically assume that being submissive means, "beat down" women who aren't allowed to think for themselves..........That is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo far from the truth... Proverbs 31 is soo beautiful in showing the strength of women and really, the many things that they do to make the family work. Also, throughout the bible we will find that, yes women were to submit to their hubbies, but there are many notorious women , who took on great, important roles!
