When I try... I stay up. Don’t care much for TV, but if the tv is on I’ll fall asleep. Been that way since I was a young child. I don’t like falling asleep with the tv on because it affects my dreams.

It is background noise, that is what is helping you get into deep sleep. Try some other sounds. Ocean waves, rain, rain on barn roof, they have them on the internet. But prayer before sleep is a great help. I'll be praying for your rest.

I have to sleep with something on. I grew up listening to Sailor Sam and old time radio shows like Bickersons or Fibber McGee and Molly. These days I either fall asleep listening to a playlist of preaching I saved on YouTube or The West Wing, The Office or some other sitcoms.

I can't sleep with silence.

If you watch this, you will see a clip of Jakes giving his rationale. And if you listen closely, you will discover that Jakes and his doctrine is EXACTLY where the antinomian, anti theonomy, "keep God out of public policy" thinking leads to.

He pretty much says we ought to quit looking for public policy to reflect righteousness. So, the cess pool of modern society's ongoing psychotic episode is a DIRECT RESULT of the thinking and theology that Jakes espouses. And that thinking is a mindset held by the majority of professed "Christians", even as those same "Christians" caterwaul with their weeping and gnashing of teeth about the direction society is going in. They complain about the disease but are indignant when you point out they are the ones spreading the virus.

The Church doesn't have to accept the culture around it. It doesn't have to police its language. The church family isn't a safe space for anyone who wants to continue in a sinful lifestyle. Because sooner or later a virus grows and spreads. Political correctness in the pulpit or amoung the church people is a a water pistol against an attacker coming after your family. It just can't be done. Change the way you do things so people would feel welcome? I didn't go into an Apostolic Church because I needed to feel welcome. I absolutely understood that this life choice was something I needed not something they needed. I needed to change my life. My lifestyle was diametrically opposed to their lifestyle. They didn't look like what I grew up with, their culture wasn't the same culture I knew. It was different. I needed to get with their program, not the other way around.

It is in the video right after the actor (made famous, because he dresses like a woman?) lays hands on Jakes and prays for him. T.D. Jakes goes into some sort of..spiritual intoxication. All while a female evangelist makes the statement that T. D. Jakes is pushing out a baby. But, it worked for the congregation, they were all shouting happy.

Amen Brother preach! Thats why I understand holiness standards. My church keeps them strong, and the presence of God is the strongest I've ever felt it anywhere. I've never been another place like it. True consecration, is enmity to the carnal mind. So I'm sure many wont understand.

All I can say is God is good because He allowed me to see it. He truthfully "allows the foolish things of this world to confound the wise." Coming on this forum allows me to see how blessed I am, because many have no true idea what im talking about.

I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to get high, and got 1/10th of what I got from drugs, as what the Holy Ghost has given! There's nothing like it, for years I've going about things all wrong!!

Amen, I know of an independent church that went from ultra ultra con, to saved at repentance, to wanting to emulate TD Jakes, to their children having babies out of wedlock and posting facebook pics of themselves at the local bars.

So when we try to hold a line of doctrine, or standards it's because we have seen what compromise can do and it's not pretty.

I was thinking when I seen that, what is this man going to transfer to him? Why in the world is Madea laying hands on the Bishop? Everything about that was wrong. It wouldn't surprise me if Tyler Perry was deep in Eastern religion, and the New Age, and we didn't see Jake's receive his Khundalini awakening! It was either that or he blasphemed the Holy Spirit and fell out on purpose!

I was locked up about 9 years ago and I started reading this book by him my celly had. I think the book was called "reposition yourself" he talks about how he financed all of Tyler Perrys movies. That's why he plays a role in a lot of them. I stopped reading it, because it was all about money. Sad!

Jakes is a celebrity pastor. He has become so big, he needs the money. And sadly, like most, he's compromising all the way to the bank.

This is when I look at pastors of smaller works and find myself being thankful for men of God who aren't after fame and notoriety.
