Baby Daddy

Customer ire has pushed Target to remove its ' Baby Daddy' greeting cards from stores ahead of Father's Day.
Frustration with the cards first started approximately 2 weeks ago when Facebook user Takeisha Saunders posted a photo of the card.
She said: 'You CANNOT be serious Target!!!! Really!!!?!!!!? This was the only Father’s Day card that featured a black couple!!!!!!'

People are too uptight these days. Everything offends everyone. I'm surprised someone isn't offended that the department store is called, "Target". lol

I saw the tweet yesterday and some others about it. Truth hurts, I guess. It's a fact that blacks have an absent father issue. Instead of them getting mad about a greeting card, they should get mad over black men being irresponsible and not taking care of his family.

ROFLOL! A lot of people refer to their child’s father as baby daddy. Especially in that community. Hilarious.

I hear that term all the time at my job. It's sad when a client comes in with kids from multiple fathers, none of which are taking responsibility for their actions.

yes, I think some choose not to marry and live together so they can collect welfare benefits.

men are not taking responsibility for their actions and the govt is encouraging it by making it more profitable to not be married.

I've heard this mentioned, but I don't see how it's more profitable to not be married. I guess I don't know all the ins and outs of welfare and all the programs available.

TANF or cash assistance here only lasts a short time. And IIRC, you have to be willing to take classes for employment and look for employment; they don't just give you cash to sit around the house.

Also, if you have children with no father in the home, they will refer you to child support so the bio-father can begin paying support instead of them receiving cash assistance.

I don't consider food stamps very "profitable" since it's a basic necessity.

Does anyone know how it's more profitable to be a single mom than have a nuclear family?

you can live with a partner and still collect benefits that you would not collect if you were married, or so I have been told.
