19 inch arms

I have been on a lengthy quest for 19'' arms. At my age I do not think I will make it. After a good pump they measure at 17 1/2''. I do not want to add body weight just to obtain arm size. I have been working triceps really hard since they make up like 68% of total arm mass. I would like to see that 18'' mark by Dec 31. Any suggestions from any one on here??

Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.

1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things,

I didn't think 19 inch arms was possible without "help"?

Pull ups, weighted, with underhand grip. Also heavy barbell curls and rows. Triceps dips (weighted), diamond or one arm push ups (weighted), heavy overhead presses, close grip bench press, skullcrushers, etc.

The key though is proper periodization, apparently.

Go heavy, on everything.

Joe why don't you just work on the biggest muscle of the body? :hmmm

Good shoes for working out.

If cannot afford them then lift heavy barefoot.

Lifting is like brushing your teeth, you have to do it because it is a part of hygiene. Nothing replaces weight lifting. But only focusing on huge arms and not having balance will make you as scary as Popeye. Also don't smoke reefer, it raises cortisol levels, and increases ESTROGEN!!!! So guess what Rasta man have gynecomastia. How old are you?

You don't want to gain fat, but you will gain lean mass. If you are eating clean.

Go get a road bike and do some miles in our wonderful southern hot.

Hey might as well right? Considering men use to run around with nothing on but a hotel bath robe. Sounds like a good idea Joe go back to your roots.

How old isn't the question.

Had you been a lifter when you were younger, or any sort of serious athletics.

Also read everything on Mark Rippetoe routines.

Also this might be too expensive for you, it is for me. But Dr. Kelly Starrett's book becoming the supple leopard. Will no doubt about it help you stay AWAY from injury. Because no one can afford injury, at any level. Lifting heavy without the proper approach can mess you up for life. One rep wrong is all it ever takes. One lift improperly without correct warm up will take you out.
Also read everything Stand Efferding has out, he has a good approach to rest, sleep, and sodium intake.

Wow, the last couple days I started looking into Starret's work. There's info on the utubes and other places online. He makes sense.

I have a brother in our church family who is a trainer. We talk about how biomechanics works in everything we do. Dr Kelly Starrett's work Becoming a Supple Leopard: The Ultimate Guide to Resolving Pain, Preventing Injury, and Optimizing Athletic Performance. is excellent in being able to work through heavy lifts without major injury. One of our brothers injured his tricep in skull crushers 85 lbs. The tears were bad, but his last examination yesterday shows that the tears are healing perfectly. The doctor was amazed at the healing. Now someone might say that the brother still sustained an injury, but this is it. It could of been way worse, and the healing could of took way longer. Or needed surgery in most folks (we are totally against surgery. Not for a religious reason, but a physical one. Scar tissue needs to be broken up constantly for the rest of our lives. Depending on the surgery. Operating on tendons, ligaments is not a wise decision. So, everything is about optimizing our biomechanic capabilities, to such a degree that we can prevent huge injuries. To increase mobility, is to be able to not only avoid but eliminate problems.

An awesome tool for shoulders and core workout.

I use an assortment of sledge hammers. But Tactical Shoulderok created by the Mad Scientist Chris Duffin. Again, another way to insure mobility plus working to increase core strength.
