Do I need new friends?

If my friends tell their wives about our conversations, should I get new friends?

There are some things discussed that a woman doesn’t need to hear.

May need to say "hey dont tell anyone what we're talking about, not even your wife". The guy may think its safe to talk to his one flesh about everything.

Maybe you need to speak with your friend about this.
Or
Just limit your future conversations to greetings and weather!

I would just be careful what I told certain friends if I knew they blabbed all they hear! ;)

Sure. Go get some new friends. Just be sure to keep the old ones. Because the thing about old friends is, that you can’t just go out and gather up some more of them.

Think I’ve already stated that.

Ok, ok... so last night after prayer meeting a friend invited me to his home. Another friend arrived. Their wives present.

We discussed a few things. Well... I usually just listen... until someone needs to be corrected for misquoting a bible verse or taking it out of context. Anyway, I brought up “me” and current events in my life. One of my friends stated that I always talk about myself. That I don’t care for others.
I turned to my other friend for his opinion. He disagreed.

I also mentioned that I need single friends my age. I always feel like the 5th wheel.

I would be hard pressed to call such a person "one of my friends", because a friend would not have such a low opinion of you.

in my opinion, anyway.

Were you asking for opinions?

Good advice and I use this advice at Ladies Prayer meeting. There are just some women who like to gossip and can't keep their mouths shut. Some wouldn't do it if you paid them. :heeheehee

I'd discuss it with my friend about his (or her, depending on the friend, naturally) talking to their significant other about our conversations.

From a personal view, I know I generally talk to my girlfriend about almost everything. There are some things that are too personal that I will avoid discussing or simply not mention to her, but on a regular basis, there is little I withhold from her unless I was asked otherwise.

I'm sure if you tell this friend you would rather keep stuff between you two, he'd understand.

That "friend" sounds as if hes been sharpening that arrow for a while for him to just whip that out and for it to be out of context.

You'd always be welcome at our house to talk about whatever is on your heart.

It sucks when you dont burden people down with your life on purpose and then when you DO reach out hearing some mess like that just kinda makes me wanna crawl back in my shell.

I realize how it sounds reading my posts. His tone was one of respect, and humility. It just struck me as odd and surprising.

Anyway. I need friends my age or up to 5-10 years younger and single. Which is not likely to happen down here. Most marry young.

Sounds like you've been the subject of someone else's projection. They see in themselves a tendency to only talk and care about themselves, they feel guilty about it because they know it's selfish and ungodly, but the negative feelings that that guilt creates are unwelcome and too painful to deal with, so they victimize someone else, who is completely innocent, as a defense mechanism, and so, assuage their conscience just a little because a righteous judgment against such behavior has been rendered, it has been condemned, even though its all been against the wrong person.

hmmm...

Something that happened over the Summer. He was talking to me about another brother... Then he told me that I shouldn’t want to hear gossip to feel better about myself.
