Jonny Godair

Looks like Nathaniel Urshan took his church. Thought he would have picked someone a little more conservative.

I don’t know about conservative versus liberal, but I always enjoy Nathaniel Urshan’s preaching, when I am able to hear it.

I always thought Bro. Betts would. Regardless, Brother Godair is a man of God and I’m certain the decision was come to with much prayer. I pray the best for the Durham church.

Is there a specific reason why? I understood he was maybe 2 years into Pastoring the work there in Mississippi.

Yup time will. I’m sure he will do fine. Great preacher. Johnny Godair is a giant in Pentecost and I’m sure he found the will of God for the church.

They often do. It depends on whether they left on good terms.

Depends on their by-laws.

Most make recommendations.

Unless it is family, then it goes to the oldest or best son.

I am going to believe that Bro. Godair would be above the "keep it in the family" crowd.

Sometimes the will of God IS a family member. Can you blame an Elder for wanting to see the work in the hands of a son that he has trained and invested in, after he has prayed and sought the will of God? Sure, horror stories abound when an entitled and spoiled son want the reigns, but sometimes the son may be the one God has chosen to carry on the vision and burden God gave the elder.
