Here is a picture of my small vineyard, and my large garden in the making…
It’s a happy place because while working on it in between all of the rains, I get to train my kids to use the exact same tools like post hole digger’s and rock bars, that I used when I was their age with my dad. I sort of inherited his tools when I lost him last year to a nasty disease....and using them takes me back in time over 30 years, away from the stress of this life.

I enjoyed telling them to grab a hold of these post hole digger’s, and put them to work, they have not only your dad’s but your grandpa’s blood and sweat on them.

It’ll be a year since his death in just under two weeks… So lately this has been my getaway each evening...between the almost nonstop rains

Not sure if this phone shot is visible.

Very nice. My vine is out of control. I was going to prune it this winter but the temp was fluctuating too much plus it was raining all the time I didn't want to give an opportunity for rot.

My other vine dies every winter and grows back every spring/summer. Weird.

That's wonderful that you are sharing the memories, and experiences with your children. Gardening is something children do not want to do, but later on in life, they appreciate it. I was one of those kids who hated to weed... but now... I have a large garden, and I enjoy just being outside, tending to it. I am looking forward to putting my garden in, but won't be able to do that here until about the end of May, first of June. However, I am about to start seeds in my greenhouse. It is always an exciting time of year!

Did you build your greenhouse? If so can you tell us how you did it?

I was able to talk a women off the cliff of fear and panic. It really hit home how important our faith and trust in God is. As we see the day approaching, we will really need to be that light of the world, the light in our communities.

God is always calling us upward, no matter where we find ourselves and in whatever situation.

It would be a good time to focus - “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)

It was a kit we put together. My family bought it for me several years ago, and it has been the best thing I've ever invested in for my garden, since we live in a cold climate. The kit was purchased from Harbor Freight. It is just a metal frame with plastic inserts. It has really held up well though.

There is a lot of fear. You can see it in so many faces, and then yet, I feel great faith building too. I have heard of families enjoying family worship, prayer and bible study together. I have heard that many families are reconnecting with each other, time to do so, because there is nothing else to do. So many are getting outside, instead of staying in with their media entertainment. Folks are looking to see if their neighbors are okay, do they need groceries, or errands run. People are donating their time to make masks for nursing homes/hospitals who are in critical shortage. I'm sure the list can go on and on.

We, the church, need to realize we are living now, in this time, for such a time as this. Perhaps it is our greatest hour in time, we do not know, but we can be sure, that just as we have an infectious, contagious virus, we can have an infectious and contagious faith. Let us be the banner of faith in a world run amok in the pit of fear.

Good for you on not being on Facebook. Everyone should have collectively walked away from that place years ago. :thumbsup

I have something happy to report. People are hearing the Gospel preached in Fort Lauderdale.

Re: The Happy Place

from facebook:

The reports are that the truckers are getting supplies to the stores. People are stocking the shelves all night and letting old people shop first.
Carnival Cruise line told Trump “We can match those big Navy Hospital ships with some fully staffed cruise ships” GM said hold our cars and watch this;
we can make those ventilators where we were making cars starting next week. Women and children are making homemade masks and handing out snacks to truckers.
Restaurants and schools said, We’ve got kitchens and staff; we can feed kids.” Churches are holding on-line services and taking care of their members and community.
NBA basketball players said, “Hold our basketballs while we write checks to pay the arena staff.” Construction companies said,
“Here are some masks for the medical staff and doctors”. Breweries are making sanitizer out of the left-over ingredients. We thought we couldn’t live without
Baseball, NASCAR, NBA or going to the beach, restaurants or a bar. Instead, we’re trying to keep those businesses open by ordering take-out.

What they didn't count on was America saying "Hey, hold my beer and watch this."

I think a Japanese Admiral in the middle of the Pacific said it best in 1941, "I think we have awakened a sleeping giant."
Give us a little more time and we will be doing much better! And stop listening to the hysterical media!!
Sharing this from another FB friend. We have wonderful country and an amazing God.

I love it. There is much positive to be thankful for.

I'm choosing to look squarely at the glass that is half full, fully knowing it is also half empty.

The half-full perspective brings hope to my heart.
The half-empty lets me know I need to be thankful for what I have now.
