And so, you are saying you DO have experience with this new initiative? Can you share details about your experience and why you came away with a negative experience?

I have an idea, since you are introducing this to all of us, why not tell us? Tell us what you find interesting, how it can work for all of us. How it will help our country. ultimately how will it help people in my church family NOW.

The website answers all of your questions. It appears very detailed to me. I actually read all areas on the website. It didn’t leave me with any questions other than wanting to know if anyone had success or failure with it.

Also, you don’t get to run cover for jediwill83. If he had a personal negative experience, the readers would more than likely want the details about that. :thumbsup

I skimmed through the website. It looked to me like a clearinghouse for information on various resources available in both the public and private sector for people looking to transition to a new career or upgrade their skillsets for the new market conditions we are currently entering. Like most government work related programs, it's good up to a point.

Personally, I just became a commercial mortgage broker. So if anybody needs a commercial or business loan let me know. lol

It's actually easier than I thought it would be. Now, if I can just get paid... :heeheehee

Actually, I should start a utube channel or something about how the real world works. An awful lot that I was told back in school growing up just ain't how it really is. And I have run across lots of people still trying to operate under those false ideas when it comes to business, money, etc. And not getting anywhere near where they want to be, and not fully understanding why.

The world is a very different place than we often imagine it to be...

At a certain level you are right, but on another level you're missing the point of what they are doing, I think. Keep in mind, all the Big Boys in politics and governance (Big Business) are trying to implement Plato's Republic in one form or another. But this isn't pre-Revolutionary France. The situation is incredibly different.

"It doesn't matter what the market is doing. What matters is where YOU are in the market."

"It's more about who you know than what you do. What you CAN do depends in large measure on who you know."

Proverbs 18:16 KJV
A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. <----- THIS is a key component to success...

I should write a book or something...

In fact, let me elaborate a bit. This is like a $599 seminar worth of top secret information held back from the masses, I'm gonna dump it here for free in this thread, so act now! lulz

Most if not ALL successful people got where they are because of NETWORKING. Success is a team sport - you need to know the RIGHT people. Deals are done on the golf course, at a bar, during a lunch meeting, after Sunday church service, at the fellowship meal, at the backyard bbq, at the Christmas party, etc. Successful people are in the right place at the right time for opportunities. But they are able to get there because they get correct information about opportunities. That correct information comes from someone they know. You want to buy an apartment complex for 20 million dollars? You HAVE to know certain key people in order to pull it off. The banker loans you the money because they actually know you. Or they know someone on your team. Credit and income matter, BUT THAT ISN'T ENOUGH. Besides, you don't get access to even know what deals exist unless you know somebody who knows about the deal.

So you have to know the right people. It IS a country club. So you have to get in that club to have access to the people that enable you to do things that move you up from where you currently are. And you get in by invitation, which means you have to know someone who can introduce you to others who will help you succeed.

So, you have to surround yourself with people who are doing what you want to be doing (more or less). If you want to be successful in business you have to rub shoulders with successful business people. If you are surrounded by people who AREN'T successful, then you need to find a new crowd. Birds of a feather and all that.

But, to do THAT you need to heed the Scripture posted above. You need a "gift". You have to add value to others. In return they will add value to you. You have to bring something to the table. It can be cash. Credit. Knowledge. Time. Sweat equity. Your own networks and connections. SOMETHING. You can't approach life like you are begging for alms. You need to flip the script. Quit thinking "Why don't you give me XYZ" and start thinking "How can I solve some problem you have? How can I add value to your situation so you see the benefit in working with me?"

By bringing your "gift" (bringing value) you get ACCESS to KEY PEOPLE who will in turn enable you to elevate your station, by giving you OPPORTUNITIES YOU OTHERWISE CAN'T HAVE.

ALL successful people - whether in business, sports, education, you name it - bring value to others and think in that way: "How can I solve a problem, meet a need, BRING VALUE to the situation?"

And for AFF folks, you have an advantage. You already know someone who can open the right doors and bring you the right opportunities. Your Father in heaven is the First and Main person who can make things happen. :thumbsup

Look man...Ive been struggling in the job market for some time dealing with applications and rejections and government bureaucratic nonsense so my first reaction to any government program is usually a spike of curiosity and optimism then remembering that this IS the government we are talking about.

Nonsense. It's Baker, Pertwee, and Troughton, in that order. The others are silly, frumpy, stupid, and boring.

You WILL obey. You WILL oBEEEEY.

My understandings of the website was the same as Esaias.
So, let me ask you, why would you think we would be interested?
Did you think that the whole five people who post here had interacted with this program? As far as running cover for the Jedi? That’s your perception. I was merely asking you some questions.

Should have answered this question. I like information and I like to share it. The website gives a lot of options for various job opportunities and links you to the source for further information. Just thought it was interesting.

I haven't seen a website this well organized giving a person a place to search out options for a new career if they hadn't thought about it. Choices are good.

When it comes to jobs, this administration has done very well. Much better than past administrations.

Obviously the govt is limited as to what it can do; however, there are some things which may be of assistance to those who are willing to put in the work.

I had a conversation with a client last year who was complaining about not finding a job. I spent a good deal of time going over free job assistance he could get. Creating a resume, mock interviews, skills assessments, training, etc. I set him up for a time to come in and do this. Did he show up? Nope. Spoke with him a month later and he was still complaining about not finding a job. I asked what he had done in the past month and he had stood in front of a home depot a few hours a day.

Point is the government can assist with certain things, like this website, but it's up to the people to put in the work.

It's a good website. I like how it shows there are options other than a 4yr degree. It emphasizes skills instead of degrees, which I believe is better.

It's another tool for those who want to work and are willing to go after it.

Funny, one critic of the website said it would only encourage those currently employed to look for a different job. Not sure why that's a bad thing.

Like Trump or hate him, he has done well with the economy. I personally believe this is all orchestrated by the socialist, left, and right to get Trump removed. Americas greed leaves people in need...
