Illegal. But the cops do nothing about them. The fireworks they sell in Fillmore though are all supposed to not fly or explode, but they do have some that shoot up and they do have some that explode with a bunch of "poplets"...they are fun to toss up in the air as high as you can get them.

Nope. I never said I possess anything....what you been smokin? weed killer? :killinme

Margies3 06-27-2007 08:15 PM

Most things that go up in the air are illegal here, I think. Bottle rockets might be ok, altho I'm not sure about that even.

But the cities and towns do such fabulous displays, why would you need to pay money to do them yourself?

My question is: How many of your towns are doing the fireworks on the FOURTH? We're not here. We're on the 3rd. My aunt's town is doing them Sunday. So that's even earlier!

I didn't like it. It hurts my eyes. I'm using the light right now, but usually the Friends Blue. My avatar looks better with both of these. We must have interior decorating. lol

Oh, and - legal, legal, legal. I love fireworks!!!! Very wet here and this year will have some great fireworks in all the surrounding towns from Saturday until the 4th. They are popping some outside right now. Hope my husband can get some sleep. He's hates the fireworks seasons. lol

jwharv 06-28-2007 12:21 AM

We use to love to bend the sticks on the bottle rockets so when they went off they would just spin..................

There were some things called picolo Pete's.... take em off the stand.. wrap them in tape... smash them with a hammer.. light em up... they shoot far... but not in any one direction.
One year, one shot up.. went into the car through one window.. and out the opposite window...
lucky for us, the windows were down..

dunno what the tape is for, but you can squeeze them near the base with vice grips and after they whistle for a while they explode

ARPH :doggyrun

They are no legal here in Georgia. It was stupid that they were illegal anyway. People would just go across the border and buy them and come home and blow them off. Police never arrested anyone.

Alot of areas here in Georgia are banning fireworks for this year because of the drought we are in right now.

My great aunt saved a newspaper article that was written when I was just a baby because it was about my dad.

Apparently, he was riding his Harley down the road and lighting firecrackers and throwing them as he was going. Unfortunately, as he threw one of the lit firecrackers, it flew right into the open car window of a police car. Went past the officer driving and landed on the passenger seat where it went off. Dad, of course, got a ticket. :killinme:killinme:killinme:killinme:killinme

Where do you live in Ventura county if you don't mind saying?
