National Treasure 2 - http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Natio...iler-5264.html

Quote:

By Josh Tyler: 2007-05-25 00:38:39

National Treasure is the franchise the Da Vinci Code wishes it could be. It tackles the mysteries of history in a smart, entertaining way and it doesn’t need trumped up controversy to get people to show up and pay for seats. So get ready to be excited about the return of nerdy Benjamin Franklin Gates and his team of American History treasure hunters. The trailer for their sequel, National Treasure: The Book of Secrets, is online.

In National Treasure 2, Nic Cage’s Gates character tackles a conspiracy surrounding the assassination of America’s greatest president, Abraham Lincoln. The mystery begins with 18 pages missing from the diary of Lincoln’s killer, John Wilkes Booth.

I really liked the first one even though the critics panned it.

The fourth film, co-starring John Hurt, is due for release on 22 May 2008.

The Hobbit - ''Lord of the Rings'' prequel - http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20035161,00.html

Quote:

Raimi's name (Spider Man 3 director) has been floated in connection with The Hobbit ever since a very public dustup between Peter Jackson and New Line chairman Bob Shaye left the Lord of the Rings prequel without a director.

I remember seeing the first Raiders in the theater on my 12 birthday. Ever see the production shots of Tom Sellek playing Indiana before Harrison Ford was recast?
Of course I also remember seeing Star Wars on its opening weekend when I was 7....

BoredOutOfMyMind 07-11-2007 01:13 PM

How far are these upcoming?

Do we need to start filiming intermission ads for our churches?

Still so confused what the difference is in watching the movie on a DVD and going to the Malco to watch it.

Not much, IMO. You see way more stuff at the rental places. I go to Hastings and don't rent. Not enough good new stuff to bother with.

I want to see Miss Potter. I love a movie with the English background.

Don't you understand? Theaters are bad because they show movies.... and Movies are bad because they are shown in theaters.... (And yes, I actually heard this said more then once, although not in one sentence like this.)

Some also question why some would want to make habitation with Hollywood Homos too.

Do you know for certain of those who are and those who are not besides the ones who are out of the closet?

I would say the same thing for youth leaders, assistant pastors, music directors, bosses, doctors, lawyers and indian chiefs.

I wonder if they're going to do "The Silmarilion", that was the best one, IMO.

Most importantly in Dec 2008 the new Star Trek movie comes out!!!!!

It deals with the orginal crew when they were young and first met. Producedd and directed by JJ Abrams who created Alias, Lost, and directed Mission Impossible III.

Does it have any of the original cast members, from either of the ST shows?

You crack me up Little Buddy... they haven't had "Intermission" in the movies since - well my sources tell me that it's really been a long time.

I went to a Microsoft Dev/Tech Net event that was held at the local movie theater. They were running the onscreen ads before the thing kicked off. Several churches were advertising there. I got a really cool Windows logo T-Shirt that I'm saving as a gift for my friend BOOMM.

Straightline 09-12-2007 06:05 PM

How about,
Indiana Jones finds a Pentecostal Altar

Na, that would be contrary to all that hollywood stands for

Guess that's why I don't watch movies

Leonard Nimoy reprises his role of Spock in some sort of way. The new young Spock is the actor that plays Syler on the TV series HEROES.

They have not announced casting for the other characters yet but the chracters are the original Star Trek ones of Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Scotty, Uhura, etc.

It will be cool seeing the original characters in a movie with modern effects if the casting is done right. Of course nobody could really replace Kirk, Spock, and Bones. The chemistry between them was really good. Especially the bickering between Spock and Bones.

Hoovie 09-12-2007 06:19 PM

Hey was there not a thread of movies available on DVD that are recommended by forum members? I can't find it.

Perhaps that is the conservative "purge" we keep hearing about!!!

I highly recommend the DVD "Flywheel" which is a low budget Christian film made by a large Baptist church in GA. Very, very good.

:) Last I heard there was a move underfoot to limit the movies to reel-to-reel and VHS - no DVD or digital.:poloroid

Felicity 09-12-2007 07:27 PM

If nobody else has already mentioned it, be sure and watch this movie -- "Amazing Grace"!

It's really really good!

Is this in video stores or does one need to check out a Christian book store?!

What I just wrote reminded me of something I read in the Perspective magazine the other day...

Jews don't recognize Jesus, Protestants don't recognize the Pope, and Apostolics don't recognize each other in the video store!! :hypercoffee

Did you hear the Russell Crowe is going to play the bad guy in the new ST movie? I'll watch it, but I'm not holding out hope after seeing the last one. The one thing that might make it good is the fact the JJ Abrams from Lost is directing it.
