It's phone work, for a company that provides customer service for credit card companies. I will be one of the persons people speak with when they call their credit card company.

I pray contentment in your life - - just remember no place is perfect, but having a place to grow, gain experience and receive a good paycheck outweighs the few negatives that could come your way.

Congrats!!!! I'm happy for ya!

I hear ya. One of the things we talked about was my being able to move to their IT department once I get my degree. He said it was definitely a possibility. I was completely honest with him and told him I wouldn't promise him that I would make a career out of working in the call center because I have other plans for my future. He really appreciated the fact that I didn't come to the interview trying to impress him with empty promises. I have a very good feeling about this whole thing and am excited about where this will lead.

There's no feeling like it. Now comes the hard part: Doing your job as unto the Lord, even after the corporate "honeymoon" wears off.

God Bless you.

And remember, Christians can't help but prosper these days, because people who don't lie are in short supply!

Why would that be hard? I've never hidden the fact that I am a believer from my coworkers.

Blubayou 07-13-2007 08:52 AM

Congrats!!! May God bless you in this latest endeavor.

no, no, no. The hard part is to be just as excited about this job a year from now as you are today.

Ahhhhhhh, yes, I can see how the thrill may fade over time. I am thinking about taking a picture of this government funded duplex to put on my desk at work. That way, if I ever get down in the dumps over my pain in the backside job I will be reminded of where it is keeping me out of! :)

Steve Epley 07-13-2007 12:56 PM

Congrads.

ChTatum 07-13-2007 08:54 PM

God is good, brother!
Rejoicing with you!

I thought you had to have a thick East Indian accent to get a job like that. :winkgrin

Oh Lord, don't get me started!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They just do that so you won't cancel anything you have. It's too hard to communicate with them.

One time I said, 'I want to speak to an American!!" :killinme

So, people all over the world have all of our private info? The 1-800 advertisements on t.v. are just people sitting at their computers, at home - just taking down all your info.

Tina 07-14-2007 08:49 AM

Congrats on the job, Rico!

Pretty much. Makes you not want to shop at QVC, HSN, etc... :D

I used to do that type of work though, and you have to sign an agreement not to keep records of peoples personal info, or abuse it. Seems like the statement that I signed said something about going to prison if I did that, and it didn't sound very appealing to me. :D

Some of the telemarketers that call to offer additional charges, er, services, on an existing account are very hard to understand, and they have a hard time understanding "NO!" So, I say, "No, thank you!" three times; if they still don't get it, I just hang up.
