That is true. There are few his equil.

Robbin G. is good too but she is much more reserved with not as many bold improv. as Wayne will venture.

Brother Strange 07-31-2007 02:13 PM

I've not seen Wayne and Elizabeth's baby since she WAS a baby. Look at her now!

Cute ear rings. They look like hoola hoops. :D

Rhoni,

For some reason I thought you were living in Forth Worth. Where did I get that idea?

Rhoni 08-01-2007 07:27 AM

Bro. Phil,

I actually live in Rowlett and drive to Mesquite for church and to Coppell for work. The church is only about a 10 minute drive. Bro. Baker has quite a progressive church and excellent staff. There are quite a few of Sis. Falla's people there, including Big Larry. Big Larry is such an encourager, just as is Sis. Falla. They must have had awesome parents.

Blessings, Rhoni

CC1 08-01-2007 11:19 AM

Rhoni,

What exactly is 'ACN"? Is it a ministerial group like GNCM? Does it have a website?

Isn't your church the one pastored by the preacher who died of a heart attack a few years ago? Was it Keith Lane? What size is the church?

Sharon Baker is a friend of mine. I thought I heard she moved there to be with her brother. Have you met her?

Rhoni 08-01-2007 12:39 PM

CC1,

Yes. That is the church. Sis. L is remarried and is the minister of music, and does an awesome job. The church runs approx. 450 and they just remodeled the whole place and are building a New Life Center which will accommodate the ever increasing size.

Yes, Sharon/Sherry is here and she is such a blessing. We've had visitors from Brazil and they have done the interpreting thing...is is as cool as deaf ministry!

I am beginning to feel at home and the 'feel' of this church is awesome...one of love and peace...there is very little if at all conflict or judgement. I think Pastor Baker was just the right person to bring healing to this grief stricken church.

Blessings, Rhoni

Ferd 08-01-2007 01:23 PM

Rhoni, is this the church pastored by brother Lane who passed away a few years back?

Rhoni 08-01-2007 02:22 PM

Duh Ferd....read the posts above yours;)! Are you coming to visit tonight?

Blessings, Rhoni

Rhoni,

I was in Plano TX with Bro. A Mangun back in 1979 and many of Sis. Falla's family attended there at that time. In fact, I am pretty sure that Big Larry was one of them... of course I also know Lynn and then another poster on here who was at Plano at the time who is kin to Sis. Falla. In fact, Sis. Falla reminded me that Lynn brought me to her house back when she and I were at TBC together.

I am connected more closely to the Blakeys than that but I will not go into it here. It goes all the way back to my grandmother and grandfather and Elmore City, OK. where Bro. Frank Parkey (W.C. Parkey's uncle) pastored.:D

CC1,

ACN is a ministerial group similar to GNCM. They are stronger on "the message" than GNCM. I posted their site earlier in this thread. It is http://www.theacn.net

I think you will find that it pretty close to the PAJC safety net you and others have been speaking of. :)

Very intersesting. Isn't David Cook PCI though? I see that he is one of the speakers at their annual conference.

Scott Hutchinson 08-01-2007 06:36 PM

Yes I can vouch for the fact the ACN are three step men ,cause Bro.Baker is friends with Bishop Bob Williams and my friend the late Pastor Kenneth Eaves who was staunchly a three step man ,those these men would be considered liberal standards wise.
Yes Pastor David Cook is PCI.

What an amazing concept... PAJC men openly fellowshipping PCI men!:slaphappy

If you read the statement of faith on their web site it is very clear that they are traditional 3 steppers as Bro. Scott has indicated.

Scott Hutchinson 08-01-2007 06:42 PM

I have talked to Pastor Baker before, and I have been around some of those guys like Pastor Mike Lane.
But ACN isn't for everyone like the AMF isn't for everyone.

See, this is how it starts. Without the UPC to restrain you the first thing you know you are letting PCIers in your pulpit then before long you are one!!!!

Scott Hutchinson 08-01-2007 06:48 PM

CC1 what the men are doing is focusing on what they agree on ,and not what they disagree on.
These men are not using each other's pulpit to push their individual views.
A group like The ACN isn't for everybody.

Next you will be suggesting that men with these two different doctrines could co-exist together!

What a concept. Hmmmmm....seems vaguely familiar.

:lol

They are... ahem... decidedly more liberal than the UPCI or the ALJC. Certainly TV is not on the list of their concerns... now programming is probably a totally different story.

Scott Hutchinson 08-01-2007 07:43 PM

CR, these men are not to trying raid other fellowships, this is sort of a independent fellowship that exists to give folks a covering ,and to allow folks to take part in a missions program, who otherwise may not.
Yes TV. is allowed.
Along as one can abide by the statement of faith ,they can differ on things.
One has to have a sponsor to apply and a background check is done on applicats.
I have talked to Pastor Baker before.

You are right, Scott. We aren't trying to raid any group, but if you want to join, I have a license, I'll sponsor you. B-L

ACN is part of the AWCN, claiming five million members.
