I was just reading an article that said a study was done and they found:

So ladies do you like your guy to be a sissy or do you like real men?

no girly men

Ok then define a "real man" as compared to a "sissy".

Yeah, I would need that defined. My husband doesn't walk around acting macho, but he doesn't act like a sissy either. So, I don't know how "real man" is actually being defined for this poll.

I sure don't want a sissy. That would be like a man that has to call his mama about everything. :D

I read an article a fews years back on this subject.

It said that women seek the gentler man to be a husband and father.

It also said that if the woman cheats she will seek out the bad boy that is ruff tuff and wild.

Women are attracted to and cheat with the "Bad Boy" man; that is ruff, tuff and scruffy, but will marry the nice guy.

Well, my husband is "ruff and tuff", but also gentle. I get the best of both worlds. I'm married while having an affair. God is good!

I think all women want a real man. But what is a real man? He is someone who will care about a woman's feelings and be a protector and never, ever use his manly strength (emotional or physical) against the woman he loves.

A REAL man is strong when he needs to be and gentle when he needs to be. Hopefully gentleness isn't seen as being a SISSY...if it is, then the definitions need to be redefined.

A REAL man isn't determined by how much he hunts or fishes.

I think the article is more about women preferring "nice guys" (like ILG pointed out) for marriage or longterm relationships, over "bad boys." Bad boys aren't really Real Men at all...they're too immature to qualify. :)

Very true... and according to research, men like the wild, loose woman, but seek out the virtuous woman for a partner.

I can only speak for myself but I prefer a real man who loves God, loves his wife like Christ loves the church, and is also in touch with his feelings and can share those openly with me. If he tries to be the 'real man' as the world defines it then he farts, belches, and refuses to do laundry or change a diaper...those men are...the real sissies.

It takes a real man who can cry when he is grieved, can love when he there is no return on it, and can give when it would be easier to igore the needs of others.:telephone:telephone:telephone Don't get me started!

I think she's making a connection between sissies and the kind of men (metrosexuals maybe?) who get their nails "done" (some of them anyhow). IOW....... REAL men don't get manicures.
