Take a moment - to have a little CHURCH up in here...

I wish this version was Mandisa, that girl can BLOW. Anyway, this song isnt new, I'm sure you've all heard it before but it has so blessed me the last couple of days and thought someone else might like to take a moment to have a little church.

Tomorrow's Classic on the level of Fanny Crosby's composures are today.

I just hope the rapture is soon, very soon.

COOPER 08-14-2007 11:56 AM

We have that CD.

MrsMcD 08-14-2007 01:27 PM

Loved it!

MrsBOOMM 08-14-2007 01:47 PM

Not my style either. The visuals and the words to the song did not relate to each other at all.

Theresa 08-14-2007 03:40 PM

wow, I'm surprised that some of you couldnt pay attention to the WORDS and apply the message to yourself...

couldnt get past the video or the fact they arent UC??

I dont care if THEY are all show and entertainment....

when I hear the song, I hear the message and how it applies to ME and I cant help but worship and thank GOD for delivering me from some junk that hindered my worship......

I'm so glad my God is RELEVANT

*sigh*

perhaps you'd like to just READ the lyrics

much like any Psalm David could have written.

Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise You
I just wanna praise You
You broke the chains, now I can lift my hands
And I'm gonna praise You
I'm gonna praise You

In the corners of mind
I just can't seem to find a reason to believe
That I can break free
‘Cause you see I have been down for so long
Feel like all hope is gone
But as I lift my hands, I understand
That I should praise You through my circumstance

Everything that could go wrong
All went wrong at one time
So much pressure fell on me
I thought I was gonna lose my mind
But I know You wanna see
If I will hold on through these trials
But I need You to lift this load
‘Cause I can't take it no more

Been through the fire and the rain
Bound in every kind of way
But God has broken every chain
So let me go

Theresa 08-14-2007 03:41 PM

anyway, it's time for me to go home - and I'll pop in Mandisa's CD and listen to her version and I'm sure do a little crying and worshiping to MY God who took shackles off me and now I can DANCE (much like David did)

Please... why is it those that can't take it in the real world want to ride the Gospel Gravy Train to stardom??

It's pure Entertainment and Show... take off the funk... put away the junk.. and sing it from the heart... then you've got some Spirit...

I would prefer to hear Alicia Keyes or Norah Jones anyday over that stuff...

I like the words.. just don't care for the false glam thas behind it.. Bro...

Naw, they sweet girls, they really are. One of the husbands is a great dude too, done a lot for Gowspol Music!

My white MIL (You know her) loves the Shackles song. It is also the song that got my choir noticed and invited back by our community, hmmmm. I'm sure that was just show too, he he!! Ummm, no.

I have been to a few of their concerts too, we had us some church...one of them downtown Boston, the Holy Ghost-aaah was coming dooownn-aah:hypercoffee

These ladies' father is a COGIC minister and they are anointed and filled with the Holy Ghost. I have two of their CDs and I have seen them live and that was when I knew they had something more to offer than entertainment.

Thanks for sharing the tune, Theresa!

Our youth girls' dance team used to do this song; it was amazing!
