Amos 08-17-2007 07:29 AM

Welcome!

You mean you aren't harboring deep seated feelings of inferiority because you are Apostolic???

me neither.:)

Digging4Truth 08-17-2007 07:34 AM

I cannot say what I would be if I had never been apostolic... I don't any of us can...

But I have said before that Apostolic is what I am. It is my very nature. I cannot see myself being anything else.

Why would I desire anything else when this is so completely what I am?

What I would have been without this life I have lived? No one can tell.

But because of this life I have lived this is what I am to the core and I cannot see myself walking any other way.

Apostolic Freedom

Can you tell us a little about yourself, such as how you came to know the Lord?

D4T, I like the way you said that. I do not attend an Apostolic Church, so technically speaking I guess some would say that I am not now Apostolic. However, in my heart of hearts, I AM Apostolic and always will be. I have a friend who says to me, "you just can't ever really get away from your raisin'!" I think she's very right about that. Once you are Apostolic, it becomes WHO you are.

By the way, welcome to AFF, AF

Lost as two boys kissing?

Scott Hutchinson 08-17-2007 08:22 PM

I would be ashamed if I wasn't Oneness Pentecostal.

BINGO!!! Great answer, CC1! And definately the RIGHT answer. Wish I woulda thought of it.

Scott Hutchinson 08-17-2007 09:25 PM

If one truly follows Christ in discipleship and obeys the word, they'll be what they are supposed to be.

Felicity 08-17-2007 09:30 PM

Thinking about the title of this thread just makes me so so thankful that I was born into a home to parents who were One God Pentecostal believers.

I wouldn't trade my heritage for anything in the world. So so so glad I have known this OP way since birth, but even more glad that my dad was transferred to another city when I was barely a teen where there was a strong church with lots of young people and where I had the opportunity to make friends and be exposed to Godly positive peer pressure.

So thankful that before the foundation of the world I was already marked for the kingdom of God and chosen and predestined to be who and where I am today.

If I wasn't apostolic, I'd probably be LOST!

You can be an Apostolic and NOT be a Christian but you CANNOT be a Christian and NOT be Apostolic.

tv1a 08-17-2007 10:42 PM

Be more concerned about being like Christ than being apostolic. Too many people are caught up in labels and dig themselves into a hole they are too proud to climb out.

Too many people think being an apostolic (whatever that means) is nirvana.

Congrats on the new beginning. Don't get bogged down with the labelling. You will sell yourself and God short if you do.

tv1a 08-17-2007 10:45 PM

How can one say this when apostolic is such a broad term? There is no concrete definition of apostolic.

Main Entry: ap·os·tol·ic
Pronunciation: "a-p&-'stä-lik
Function: adjective
1 a : of or relating to an apostle b : of, relating to, or conforming to the teachings of the New Testament apostles
2 a : of or relating to a succession of spiritual authority from the apostles held (as by Roman Catholics, Anglicans, and Eastern Orthodox) to be perpetuated by successive ordinations of bishops and to be necessary for valid sacraments and orders (:D)

How's this for a definition? :)
