What ever happened to him, did he dissapear or is he on here under a different name.

CC1 08-25-2007 05:04 PM

LOL!!! My posts don't occasionally veer off into esoteric prose that almost no one understands.

That was what always made it easy to spot MB no matter what screen name he was using!

(and also his very intelligent normal posting!)

Didn't tube tops go out in the late 70's and early 80's?

The only place I ever hear them mentioned as a fashion accessory anymore is here. lol

Let's just say that TB's, song leader should not be jumping in the spirit lest there be a wardrobe malfunction.........:uhoh

Thats right.

The tube top could be torment or temptation.

Torment if it's worn by a big sweaty beached whale.:sos

Temptation if it's worn by Miss Texas.:hypercoffee

There is a blooper from "The Price is Right" game show probably from the late 70's or early 80's where a rather slim woman with a tube top on is jumping up and down so excitedly that she has that wardrobe malfunction you refer to.

She did not even realize it and kept jumping up and down. Of course they put a big black bar across where her tube top was when showing the blooper. It is so funny to see the audience howling in laughter and Bob Barker's expression!

RandyWayne 08-25-2007 06:52 PM

I think I have seen that clip, as well as some other "bad" ones that occurred on various game shows. Some of the worst were on all the "dating game" type shows during the 70's and early 80's. LOL

Every so often Pastor Tribble and I exchange emails.
I have not heard from him for a couple of weeks.
Last I knew he was alive and well and pastoring a church called Grace Community Tabernacle in LaGrange, TX (near Austin).

Ferd 08-25-2007 08:43 PM

Tribbs has resigned the church. Dont know where he is going.

Like I said, I have not heard from him for a couple of weeks.
I have a link to his church on my website. I just tried to access the Grace Community Tabernacle and was unsuccessful.

Earlier this evening I was praying for Pastor and Sis. Tribble and the assembly in La Grange and also for a couple of other pastors and the local assemblies they pastor. This was while thinking of services in these churches tomorrow.

Ferd, how did you hear about his resigning the church?

August 9, 2007

Dear Friends .

There comes a time in all of our lives when we know that it is time to
move . Sometimes it's to a new home , a new job , a new career etc.. GOD
truly orders the steps of HIS people and HE gently guides us in the path
we must travel so that we see HIS glory in the land of the living . I
believe with all my heart that GOD is not in the habit of slamming doors
but HE gently and slowly shuts them so that when the last crack finally
closes we never wonder what's behind the door and when we turn from that
shut door that a greater door is opened just as gently and slowly as the
previous door shut . The future to HIM is already the past and we have
the privilege and the honor of being gently guided by HIS Spirit to the
next pasture where we find a field beyond any of our expectations . It
was just a short time ago that I felt that me and my family would be in
La Grange for the rest of our lives and not long after we felt that way
GOD began closing the door . We prayed " are we in the right place ,
doing the right thing and if not then show us what to do " . With this
constant prayer came the undeniable knowing that the door was getting
closer and closer to the door jam and as a Pastor I stuck my foot in the
closing door's path hoping that I could hang on a little longer not to
fight GOD'S plan but to see the people I have loved and cared for a
little longer but GOD kept gently moving my foot and saying " You have
to step back son , this door will close . " I went through the
Gethsemane experience this past Saturday and I cried more that day than
I did when I lost a family member that was close to me because there is
nothing greater than the love I have for HIM and HIS people and the
thought of not being their Pastor anymore scared me and made me feel a
pain I have never felt before , it was a glorious pain because I had to
die to my will so that I could be everything that HE has chosen me for .
After the prayer I knew that it was time to move on but I still had my
foot in the last part of the closing door so HE spoke to me again and
said " You cannot take the next step until you let go " . I understood
what HE meant but I cried for 15 minutes because it meant that I would
no longer be the Pastor of the church in La Grange , I would no longer
be with the ones I had grown accustomed to ministering to on a weekly
basis so again I held on with just my toe in the door and GOD used my
wife to speak to me " If you do that then you can't let go " . I knew
she was right and I know that GOD has bigger plans for me but when you
are used to going and going it is hard to think about stopping even if
it's for a short while to regroup and recover from the battle , it's
like running and then sitting and you still feel like you're running
inside . I am still running inside and I am still hurting when I think
about leaving La Grange but it is a glorious race and a wonderful pain
because I know that in many ways GOD is going give me a greater place
than I have ever known before just as a great friend of mine said to me
when I spoke to him today " GOD spoke to me just as clear as can be and
said " Gary is going on a journey and he is in MY hands . " I truly know
that I am safe with HIM but it still hurts tremendously to sit down even
if it's for a season . August 26th will be the last day I will be Pastor
of Grace Community Tabernacle but it will be with no regrets , knowing I
gave everything I had to the greatest cause on earth and that is the
ministry to HIS people . I am excited about what GOD is doing but it is
still very painful so please say a special prayer for me .

In CHRIST in me with much love ,

Gary Tribble

Final Sunday Sermon

The Most Important Lesson You Will Ever Learn

Luk 12:31 Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.
You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
Luk 12:32 Don't be afraid of missing out. You're my dearest friends! The
Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.
Luk 12:33 "Be generous. Give to the poor. Get yourselves a bank that
can't go bankrupt, a bank in heaven far from bankrobbers, safe from
embezzlers, a bank you can bank on.
Luk 12:34 It's obvious, isn't it? The place where your treasure is, is
the place you will most want to be, and end up being.
Luk 12:35 "Keep your shirts on; keep the lights on!
Luk 12:36 Be like house servants waiting for their master to come back
from his honeymoon, awake and ready to open the door when he arrives and
knocks.
Luk 12:37 Lucky the servants whom the master finds on watch! He'll put
on an apron, sit them at the table, and serve them a meal, sharing his
wedding feast with them.
Luk 12:38 It doesn't matter what time of the night he arrives; they're
awake--and so blessed!
Luk 12:39 "You know that if the house owner had known what night the
burglar was coming, he wouldn't have stayed out late and left the place
unlocked.
Luk 12:40 So don't you be slovenly and careless. Just when you don't
expect him, the Son of Man will show up."
Luk 12:41 Peter said, "Master, are you telling this story just for us?
Or is it for everybody?"
Luk 12:42 The Master said, "Let me ask you: Who is the dependable
manager, full of common sense, that the master puts in charge of his
staff to feed them well and on time?
Luk 12:43 He is a blessed man if when the master shows up he's doing his
job.
Luk 12:44 (SEE 12:43)
Luk 12:45 But if he says to himself, 'The master is certainly taking his
time,' begins maltreating the servants and maids, throws parties for his
friends, and gets drunk,
Luk 12:46 the master will walk in when he least expects it, give him the
thrashing of his life, and put him back in the kitchen peeling potatoes.
Luk 12:47 "The servant who knows what his master wants and ignores it,
or insolently does whatever he pleases, will be thoroughly thrashed.
Luk 12:48 But if he does a poor job through ignorance, he'll get off
with a slap on the hand. Great gifts mean great responsibilities;
greater gifts, greater responsibilities!
Luk 12:49 "I've come to start a fire on this earth--how I wish it were
blazing right now!
Luk 12:50 I've come to change everything, turn everything rightside
up--how I long for it to be finished!
Luk 12:51 Do you think I came to smooth things over and make everything
nice? Not so. I've come to disrupt and confront!

The Gift

Given Little = Little expected
Given Much = Much Expected

You have been given the gift of understanding that salvation is about
grace and not works and it is your responsibility to pass that
understanding to others .

Great response is required from great gifts and greater response is
required from greater gifts .

There is no greater gift than understanding !

Neglect

Ignorance = few stripes ( heals faster with less pain )

Some of you are still arriving at this point so the pain you feel will
not be as great as the ones that are deeper in their understanding .

Understanding = many stripes ( heals slower and hurts more )

The more you understand the greater the pain is when you fail to act on
what you know .

Much given = much required and the more you are given the more
requirements their will be .

The gift of grace is huge and the only way to grow in understanding is
to have more humility .

Humility is riches and honor and life according to the WORD of GOD .

Revelation

GOD has revealed much grace to us and we are required to live and share
that grace and never again revert to what GOD has delivered us from .

GOD through disruption and confrontation has taken us to a place of
greater responsibility and as we are dispersed it will be into a world
of even more grace which will be even more responsibility .

When we learn the distribution of grace it is “ The Most Important
Lesson You Will Ever Learn “

After I posted about "the last I knew he was pastoring a church in La Grange, TX," someone else posted a letter from him saying he was leaving that church as pastor and August 26th would be his last day.

I have not heard from him for a couple of weeks.

I thought tube tops were a thing of the past until today. There was a young woman walking into the employment office today when I took my daughter there. She was wearing brown cut off jeans, a bright yellow tube top, and a pair of orange flip flops.

I can't imagine why anyone would go job hunting dressed like that. Of course, they could have been looking for work that the job service doesn't take applications for.

Or is being coerced to look for a job but really doesn't want one.
