Did Bro.Yohe Preach At Your Church ?
Did Bro.Yohe ever preach at your church or at a church you ever attended ?
I am just curious. Before I ever owned a computer ,or had ever heard of FCF ,I knew Bro.Yohe because He preached for my pastor fairly regularly. When I first met Bro.Yohe He was living in LA. His use of quotes was quite awesome. His sermon using the picture of Dorian Gray was amazing , and He used quotes from The Pope and sources that most Oneness Pentecostals never would consider using. So did Bro.Yohe ever preach at your church ? |
No, he never preached at mine, but he did preach at a tent meeting held about 30 min from me and that is where I met Jim Yohe for the first time. :)
I had been working for him as Admin on FCF a year or so... and he practically lived in my backyard... but I never went to meet him personally until he preached in Noblesville. He only lived 20 min from my house in a subdivision where several other Inpls area ministers live. Yet I had only talked with him by phone. :telephone Sometimes we take people for granted, that they will always be there.... |
Is this Vickie's brother?

Are there any of his sermons available online?

I remember when I was a young girl, he preached at our Illinois family camp. That is when I met his son Jimmy. That was a life time ago, but cannot recall any of his messages, I was just to young!

yep......he preached at our church many times. my pastor thought a lot of he and his family.

The original Bro J H Yohe performed our wedding. But he was my husbands' pastor, not mine.
Even though I knew the younger Jim Yohe and spoke with him on more than one occasion, I never heard him in the pulpit. As "forever" stated, you always think you have more time............. |
Jim preached in Pineville, LA every year and I was blessed to be assigned the job of getting him fed and relaxed when he came through. The most memorable message I heard him preach was titled "Throw Me Something Mister!" a al Mardi Gras. He was one of a kind and a great friend. He is dearly missed.

He preached several times at a church I attended a few years back. Actually I heard him within weeks of his passing. I think he may have been related to the pastor.
|
Jim Yohe preached annually at the church I attended in TN.
As a side note, his annual visits came to a halt due to issues he discussed openly on the GNC and FCF. |
One Thing I remember about Bro.Yohe was He was always trying to sell me a book ,everytime I saw Him.

Again Bro.Yohe's use of quotes was awesome.
He was quite a interesting preacher. |
He preached once or twice for Bro. Paul Suber in Jackson, MS, when I went there. I bought a couple of his books. I think he was still in LA at the time.

My pastor was intorduced to Bro.Yohe by Pastor Glenn Moseby of Gulfport,MS.
I met Elder Paul Suber when JS pastored in Bogalusa. BTW wasn't the church in Jackson,MS a independent work that Elder Paul Suber pastored ? |
I remember Jimmy Yohe speaking in the Chapel at ABI in 1956 or 1957. He was a recent graduate at that time. I'm assuming he was the father of the Jim Yohe that y'all are discussing.

We were neighboring pastors with Jim Sr. Moved west just before he did. Enjoyed close friendship with them. Jim Jr came for a Revival in our church. Never forget Jim getting on the piano at the University and making up songs as he played. Miss them both - as well as Sis Lovella.

I remember a "sermon" preached by Sister Yohe shortly after her husband passed away (that would have been Sam's "Jimmy"). I didn't know her personally but she seemed like a sweet lady. |
