Good Grief! Voting has Resumed!

I am not wanting to start another thread but I want to get the word out right now that it appears that the game is back on.

Perhaps one of the Best Buy people figured out they goofed! Or possibly they encountered a technological glitch.

Whatever, the reason voting is going through. I would guess that it will end in about 13 hours. But I sure don't claim to know nothing for sure!

Please get back in the fight. We need you! :driving

Isn't this a bit unfair to all of the other participants?

You don't think they aren't checking it too?

All is fair in love and war!

BoredOutOfMyMind 08-28-2007 12:03 PM

Another reason to not trust Best Buy for Technical Hardware or Software Solutions!

Hopefully the pages will load letting us vote again (and again and again.)

:lol

Malvaro 08-28-2007 12:05 PM

Can we vote more than once?

What unfair? The interuption? or the forum voting? :nah

1. The interuption messed everybody up; some more than others. We have no idea if it was to our detriment or gain.

2. The forum voting is everything Best Buy could have hoped for when they designed the contest the way they designed it.

3. Setting up artificial emails and artificial youtube accounts and voting more than once an hour would be unfair.

4. Encouraging others including forums to vote is plain ole American ingenuity at its finest!

I almost made The Mrs mad last night mentioning the "voting" threads.... :killinme hehehehe....

Coonskinner 08-28-2007 12:25 PM

When I was in college, one summer I got a job at a Christian Greeting card factory, a coveted place of employment in our area.

It was an ironclad rule that NO ONE got the day shift their first summer working there. That was reserved for the returning students.

Well, after about three weeks of working there, the supervisor called me in one evening and told me to show up for the day shift starting the next week.

I was falbbergasted, as was everyone else. That just didn't happen there.

It was years before I found out how I got promoted to day shift.

You see, I was and had always been an early riser.

I had to drive about thirty minutes through the twisting turning Ozark roads in the wee hours after working a long shift, and I was having a little trouble staying awake.

Unbeknownst to me, my precious old Granny called the factory and asked to talk to the president of the company.

She persisted until they finally put her on the phone with him.

She explained to him that she was John Carroll's Granny, and that he was one of the best and hardest workers at his factory.:)

She went on to explain how I was a country boy used to getting up with the chickens, and that I should be put on days.

I guess it must have amused the guy that she would be so bold and persistent, because he sent a memo out to the plant that I was to be put on days...

It was a mystery to me for years how I got that shift change until she finally told me.

Was that fair?

Nope.

Did it work?

Yep.

Y'all leave Newman alone.:)

Haha!!! You ALMOST saw the mama bear in me!!! :lol

I think we should go by the way Best Buy set it up. This is how THEY wanted it. Otherwise, they would have done it differently. :nod

AmazingGrace 08-28-2007 12:29 PM

Well to clarify, most of these places encourage exactly this... example:

My daughter started the new school yr yesterday. One of her electives is Drama Class. They informed them they would be taping certain acts and putting them on the web for them to be voted on... the person who was there presenting this showed them a letter of how this was to be done... and in the letter it specifically stated... Get all your friends and if you go on forums get them to vote and if you have a myspace put it on there too.... just get the votes... so yes this is encouraged and as someone else said.... Dont stand between momma and her kid and getting votes!!! LOL:nah

Interesting place to show up Coonskinner. If I am acting with too much zeal and emotion clouds my judgment; feel free to say what is on your mind.

When all is said and done; I reminded Michael at the beginning, that this is only a contest. He needs to above all act with integrity; because God's purpose for his life is much greater than what happens in the next few days.

Interesting place?

With me it's more about who than where.

When I see the word "Newman" on a thread, my interest is automatically picqued.

I'd rather read a post by you talking about underwater basket weaving than to read a post about a riveting subject written by an uninteresting and insipid personality.:)

I hope you read my little anecdote about my Granny...that ought to let you know my views on the subject.

I would be disappointed if you weren't pulling for your son with everything ethically possible.:hypercoffee

I wonder what that educated, bright, articulate captain of industry thought when he got the third degree from the uneducated backwoods Granny who was raised in a log cabin with a dirt floor, and never got out of the hills to see a town until she was 13?

At any rate, she got the job done.:)

She is unspeakably precious to me.

And she called me yesterday and informed me that she wants me to come to Oklahoma and get her so she can spend the fall and winter with me.

You know what?

I'm fixing to go get her.:)

No problem, Newman.

You've been my favorite foe for a long, long time.;)

Sister Alvear 08-28-2007 01:20 PM

I think nothing is wrong to do our best to help our children. I see nothing wrong with Newman encouraging us to help her child. I write letters asking for help for mine. After all are we not family?

He probably thought that he wished he had a granny like you've got! And while I was reading this post, before I got to the last line, I was thinking, "Yeah, and he's gonna go get her!!"......:driving
