Ashley Moving to Tulsa!

Well, I think my daugher is going to move back to Tulsa. She gave her two week notice at Mercy Minstries in Nashville because she felt like the Lord had told her to, and before the day was over, she was offered a full time Nanny job in Tulsa with the family she used to keep part time during college! She loves these kids like they were her own, so she is very excited about the thought of returning; and she loves Tulsa!

The family has a huge house with a guest wing that will be hers and she will have virtually no expenses other than insurance, cell phone, etc. It's a very lucrative job nowadays if you can get in with the right crowd. She loves children so much, and has missed being around them.

So I would ask you to pray for her as she transitions once again. She knows her steps are ordered of the Lord and is letting Him lead her.

That's awesome Sherri. I'll be praying for her.

BTW, my Mom and Daddy work in Tulsa. They live in Oologah, 25 miles from T-town. If you ever go down, let me know and maybe we could meet.

How far are you? I really love Tulsa; it's a great city!

revrandy 09-04-2007 09:43 PM

My Parents live in Tulsa...

rgcraig 09-04-2007 09:44 PM

I think it's GREAT!!!

revrandy 09-04-2007 09:48 PM

What kind of life is the "nanny" thing for a young woman?

I've had some family that tried that thing and from what was said it was not a good situation for young women to be in most cases...

Married Men and Single young women... living under the same roof...

My "family" had some real problems that reared it's head... from what was

said it's not all that should or could be??

anyone know anything about this??

About 4 hours. I like it, cause it's easy to get around in.

She has been a nanny before and absolutely loved it! This family treats her like she is one of them, flies her wherever they go for vacations in a private jet, feeds her well, lets her live free and loves her like a daughter!! She gets paid vacation time and overtime for any hours above the norm. I am thrilled that she will be with them again, and that she will be back in Tulsa where she already knows a good church (triumphant1).

Aunt Sherri,

This is great news. Sounds like she is going to be taken care of very well.

Steve Epley 09-04-2007 10:04 PM

There is a very good church at Tulsa Elder Gary Howard is the pastor.

That name sounds very familiar. I think she would probably fit in better at triumphant1's church though.:nod

He's a great man of God. :) I say "don't take the bait." Epley should know by now that someone from your church wouldn't fit well in the assembly that G.H. pastors. Again, he is a great man of God, but you's and his worlds are different.

I just googled him, and the only thing I found was that the church neighbors called the police on him for disturbing the peace because they were having outdoor meetings. LOL!! We have a neighbor that took us to court for noise recently, so I empathize with him on that one.

I'm sure he's a great guy, but I don't think Ash would be welcome there if it's ultra con. Her tattoos would stand out I'm sure.:killinme

Elder Howard was raised in C.P. Williams' church in Tulsa.

That is him. C.P. & Mary Williams the Apostolic Bible College. They got into trouble with the UPC for emphasizing the gifts and got their College blacklisted. Many preachers came through that College. The Grishams-Munseys-Davis Brothers-Jack Langham-J.B. Lambeth and many more.

Sis. Pauline Gruse went there before she went to Liberia as a missionary.

The Williams were missions minded folks and many missionaries came through there. Mary was a writer and a very smart lady.

stmatthew 09-04-2007 10:34 PM

What happened to the college?

It did not last very many years after the UPC pulled the plug. The Williams left the UPC. Elder Williams was unique his church grew so large he split it and started a church on the Westside of Tulsa for the saints who lived over there. For years there were 2 churches in Tulsa C.P.Williams pastored the home church and John D. Williams(who was married to Mark Hanby's sister) pastored the other the West Tulsa Apostolic Church.

Sherri,

My 1st cousin once removed and his wife are in children's ministry at T1s church. His brother and wife also go to church there. I always get confused on whether it is Ron or Jon that is in children's ministry but I think it is Jon!:hypercoffee

tamor 09-05-2007 08:07 AM

Tabo told me that Katelyn moved back to Texas.

Didn't you guys buy the house that Ashley was living in? What are y'all going to do with it? Sell it or keep it and rent it out?

Consapostolic1 09-05-2007 11:01 AM

Elder Epley do you know who currently pastors those two churches that belonged to Bro. Williams? Bro. Vent, Bro. Dykes, Bro. Howard?

The week Katelyn moved out, Dana Demett moved in (from J & T Butler's church). Now I think another girl is going to move in and we will continue to rent it for six more months. At that point, we will either sell it or continue to rent. It's been a good investment.

Speaking of Brother Howard. I heard a great story the other day.

this happened not too long ago.

he had an evangelist there for a couple of weeks and he and the evangelist were out eating and talking about extending the revival. seems things were going swimmingly.

anyway, the discussion drifted to different conferences and such and the evangelist told brother Howard that he had all the DVDs to Because of the Times! LOL!

well that went over like a lead baloon. Brother Howard then asked this young man, if he had a TV.

The evangelist told him "yes ive got a 32 inch TV right now but we just bought a house and I am looking to get a 60 inch for my living room"
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! I just about died when i heard that one. BTW, the revival was not extended.

Hey, if you can rent it out and not have a payment, I would keep it and let it pay for itself.

Chuck married a girl in Pastor Brett's church in Houston that had 16 hours of college that would not transfer...so he did...LOL. They are towards the top of the youth staff there now...

Daniel took a job after ORU that took him from Tulsa for the moment...but I'm praying him back in...:)

The rest of the Roberts are still here and doing great.

Well......we are still out about $350-$400 each month on it. They only paid part of the mortage.

I remembered you had said that at one time, but I thought maybe it was because it was Ashley, she wasn't paying as much as true rent would cost there. Could you raise it now since she and Katelyn are out?

This is a little hard to believe.Anyone who preaches for bro Howard would have to know how he feels about TV-or any type of moving screen. He has gotten stricter over the years it seems. That is something an Evangelist needs to keep to himself.

Ferd,

I am a very close friend of Pastor Gary Howard's brother, and consider Pastor Howard my pastor. I just checked on the veracity of this story, and it is simply not true.

I don't doubt that you heard it, but whoever told it needs to check their sources -- or quit making up stories (whichever may be the case).
