Sorry Dan, but just something I felt I needed to do.

Some of you may think he's a trouble maker, I think he's a hero!

OH BTW! Dad died proud of his son! read below

Darcie, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I have never thought that Dan was a 'bad guy'. I don't always agree with him (altho often I do). But I have alot of respect for him. I respect the fact that he has enough confidence in the God that he serves to be able to question some of the things that he was raised with. I respect the fact that he wants to know what he knows FROM GOD and not just because it's tradition.

Yes, in his exuberance he might go a little 'over the edge' once in a while. But I really sense a heart that loves the Lord and would be willing to do anything God would ask of him. I have to respect that :)

And we conclude . . . . . . . . . . . . . . what?

That even Dan's liver is contrary????

Dan, what an awesome thing you did for your family. Whatever questioning that might have lived in your Dad's mind about your love or loyalty to him was thoroughly obliterated the moment you laid back on that gurney.

If Dan was to be permanently banned, then Jubilee would not have been announced after his recent ban.

About 1 month before Dad died, I called him at around midnight Eastern time from Portland, Oregon. I was weeping and asked him to forgive me if I had ever ashamed him ...

Dad's tone quickly turned stern and said, "Don't you ever say that again. I am so proud of the man you've become."

I am so proud of Pops.

When did he pass away, Dan?

My dad went to be with the Lord January 26, 2004. It seems like so long ago and yet it seems like yesterday. He was an awesome man who served and loved a great God.

I love to see your admiration for your dad -- I am the same way about mine.

Dan Just Being Dan

Darcie, you keep loving that brother. I have seven of them and love them

dearly. The Father (God) gave them to me. He knew I would love them.

I've heard that blood is thicker than water and it has been said that family

represents blood and others represents water. That when it comes down

to the nitty gritty, family will stick together regardless. Think about that

a little. Yes, families should be close and many times are (I know), but not

to the exclusion of others. We cannot live without water! We need both,

blood (family) and water (others). Out of Jesus' side flowed both blood and

water. John 19: 34. also read I John 5: 6-8. There is agreement in heaven,

and there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, the water and

the blood: and these three agree in one. John, chapter 17, Jesus prayed to

the Father that the disciples might be one as he and the Father were one.

God in Christ and Christ in them and they in Christ. One with Son. He who

hath the Son has the Father also.

Just some thoughts from a senior sister,

Blessings,

Falla39

Just a few words...on one of the kindest men I've ever known...Manuel Alicea. He was a preacher, a teacher, and an example of to those around him of a sincere and powerful Apostolic lifestyle. It is my honor to have counted him among my very closest ministerial friends and brethren. He's demeanor was kind and quiet, but he demonstrated the love of Jesus Christ in the strongest way possible...through the life he lived.

Every time we had the opportunity to talk, it was often long distance, but each time he encouraged me in the Lord with he insight into the Word and his love for God's kingdom.

He served his family, his church and his brethren with a consistency and confidence that will not be easily duplicated. I miss him every day...

If Dan has just a fraction of his love for truth and the Word, then he will be well served...

The Mrs 09-05-2007 09:08 AM

Dan, I'm glad we got to see this glimpse of who you are. You are indeed a very special son. :heart

And Darcie, thank you for pointing this out to us. :thumbsup

I always felt deprived because I didn't have an older brother. :)

My daughter does though -- two of them -- and they love each other a lot.

Thank you, Elder for your kind words. He had tremendous respect and admiration for you. He believed you were one of the most intelligent men he'd ever met.

I agree that Pastor Alicea is one of the most Christ-like men to grace the movement.

I hear ya. At one time, I walked 4 miles a day. Now I would think I was doing good to walk 1/2 a mile. I've got to get out and start pounding the pavement again.

I'm making an effort to walk at least a half hour to an hour a day ...

It's relaxing ... a time to meditate and even pray.

I've got my pedometer ... mp3 player ... and I'm good to go.

One day this summer I walked over 6 miles ...

I know. I really love to walk - when I am actually in the groove of it. But just thinking about it now makes me hurt all over!!

You know Dan, Greenfield is only 764 miles from Houston proper. I have been considering a forum (not just AFF, but some of the others I am on) gathering and firing up my grill. BYOF (Bring your own food, I could not buy for every one I converse with online, I assure you. :D) If you started walking now.....
