It is interesting that a current poll about res 6 is underway on a UPC MINISTERS ONLY Forum..

So far it is 77.78% FOR the use of TV

A POLL is only as accurate as the sample polled.

Do the number of voters reflect the true nature/opinion of the organization?

I would say not.

Digging4Truth 03-01-2007 10:57 AM

My question is this...

Is the poll a private poll?

And...

If it is... I wonder how different the results would be if it were a public poll?

The fact that those most against the TV resolution could possible be against the internet as well would tend to lend some credence to this thought.

That brings up a question I have. The UPC pastors are not allowed to have TVs in their home, but they are allowed to have the internet? Why is that so?

Because no one has passed a resolution against it..........................yet!

I wonder if that same poll was placed on the Conservative Preachers forum that the DS of KS runs if we would see the same results??

Polls mean nothing, because they are bias from the get go.

Unless they can show 100% participation, it is true.

I am not UPC, and could care less if they split or not. But the fact is that which ever side gets the most votes in this unofficial ballot is gonna use it to the fullest that they can to pressure the remainder to vote their way for the "good of the org".

I say split that thang right down the middle, and move on with the work of the Lord.

Now, what kind of lurker would I be if I were to elaborate? The one doesn't go with the other, brother.

It is a sampling of those polled, who are evidently 80% in favor.

This has a 0.2% margin of possible error!

Could that simply be due to the make up (no pun) of that forum being more moderate or less UC?

At the very least they can show 110% had the opportunity to participate. That will be telling in itself. What will be interesting is those in the minority, whichever way it goes, trying to now explain why such polling is not fair.

I am sure attempts will be made.....
