Paula White's Divorce

I saw Paula White on PTL yesterday. The Host of the show said there were "biblical grounds" for the divorce and that Randy White takes "full responsibility". Has anyone heard the actual cause? Was it infidelity? Paula was also introduced as the Pastor of a 26,000 member church. I thought Randy was staying with the church and Paula with her tv ministry but it seems that she might be staying with both. I could be wrong.

In other news: TD Jakes to appear on Dr. Phil show on Sep 24. He will be teaming up with Dr. Phil to offer counseling advice to guests from both a spiritual and psychological perspective. Could be the start of his own show, since Dr. Phil started the same way, guest-starring on Oprah's show.

TD Jakes was also lauded as the #1 voice in christianity today.

ThePastorsCoach 09-13-2007 12:47 PM

I am with Bishop Jakes all this week - He already has a daily show.

Oh, good heavens - no - don't tell me! LOL! Quite the partnership - that.

And it's not like as if Jakes needs "exposure".

*rolls eyes again*

I meant some type of talk show on network television, not his preaching show on TBN and local stations.

I could care less about what's happening with the Whites really, but Jakes joining Dr. Phil disappoints. :thumbsdown

I love Bishop Jakes - What a Powerful Apostolic example of kindness and tolerance for others who do not share his revelation.

I'll probably get blasted for saying this, but I agree with you. I love his preaching, and I think that more Apostolics need to be on fire like that man.

Ferd 09-13-2007 01:46 PM

this is a much better topic than some mega church stars inablity to keep a sacred vow.

There are many people that haven't been able to keep the sacred vow, sad but true. Not just the ones you are referring to.

"GL" 09-13-2007 01:50 PM

True. Divorce knows no organizational boudaries

Why not? Howard Stern could use Bishop Jakes in his life. Who is going to reach Howard Stern, that would be awesome if that happened.
I hope you are right.

How do you about Howard Stern???? hmmmm????

With all the media hoopla when they throwed him off regular radio and when he went on satellite?? I have not listened to him.

I'm not a fan of his, no. And I haven't watched the show much at all. Maybe a dozen times total.

I just don't take these kind of programs very seriously and I think for TD Jakes to be involved with this kind of thing is kind of low class, to be honest.

I'm not "down" on Jakes either. I think he has a credible ministry with pretty incredible gifting.

It's just the Jakes/Dr. Phil mix. Seems kind of strange to me.

*shrug*

Stern is looking our way? You know Elder Epley is a closet Stern fan. He is trying to throw us off by saying they kicked him off the air as if Elder Epley didn't know that Stern left the mainstream radio to get a big contract with Sirius Radio. You ain't fooling anyone Elder! :poloroid

God opened up a great door for me to minister in the conference last night and the Holy Ghost moved in the entire conference.
Bishop Jakes did tell me that this deal with Dr. Phil ........... Well - I best not tell it all - we did have a great dinner together - he gave my wife and I beautiful watches and we will have all day tomorrow together and Saturday.
What a kind and Godly man - of course I knew him before he was big time and he has always been kind and yes - he baptizes in Jesus Name.

Watch Bishop Jakes on Dr. Phil Sept. 24 and then....... Well - later! LOL

AB he preached for Dad in his lean days. He was loosing his car and Dad made up his payments besides giving him his offering. Of course Dad doesn't get out much but they have been freinds somewhat. Dad is a Jakes' fan.

Bishop Jakes had his Partners Conference here in Orlando at one of the Disney Convention Centers - Coronado Springs Resort and Convention Center on Monday - Wed and then Wednesday night - Saturday - around 200 Senior Pastors were invited to be with him in a Retreat. My wife and I were invited and have enjoyed knowing the Jakes Family for many years.

Elder Epley - Your Dad has helped a lot of preachers. I remember just going to the Church of the Good Shepard in Miami as a young single Evangelist - must have been around 1979 and he saw me and shook my hand and put a $100 bill in my hand! He was such a blessing and you know I LOVED his radio broadcast!
He has always been a GREAT man in my book!

Stern went to Sirius because he was getting kicked of regular radio.

* * * ADVICE FROM DR PHIL"S WEBSITE * * *

Check it out at DrPhil.com ! (see his section on relationships)

He advocates the gay lifestyle!!! and Jakes is going to team up with this ??? Just asking

Christine: My 22-year-old daughter is in a relationship with a woman. I don't believe she is a lesbian. Could this be a form of rebellion and a result of getting in with the "wrong" crowd? Can homosexuality be learned and unlearned?

Dr. Phil: Homosexuality is not a learned behavior. A sexual orientation is inherited; you are wired that way. Certainly some people will experiment with a gay lifestyle, and a gay person might experiment with a heterosexual one. If she is really gay, she will find a place in that life and in that community. The important thing is that you just love her through that. What difference does it make if she is gay? Accept her, support her and do not be judgmental. It is difficult enough for her to live openly and honestly in this society; don't put your judgment on top of that.

Kind of makes you want to vomit, huh? As more of a kinder, gentler poster (most times) this kind of thing makes me want some fresh air from a more sane planet! Some folks absolutely could care less what they saddle up with as long as it gives them a little more fame and celebrity status.

Didn't Paula White just sign something to be on some secular television show herself?

Sounds like the whole bunch may need to apologize to Carlton Pearson... at least he admits he thinks homosexuals and devils will be saved.

There are going to be many stories hitting the streets about all this...I heard one a couple of weeks ago, but have not mentioned it to anyone (except my mom) because it may just be that...a story.

So not saying all you have heard is good, son...

I've heard some of the rumors but don't know any details. Sad either way, in my opinion, to preach a God that can 'do anything' (except expect me to keep vows).

By the way, Thad... be careful... our shared viewpoint is WAY outnumbered around this thread.

A lot of people are getting disilusioned by church in general- partly because of what they have seen coming from high profile ministries

Both Rod Parsely and Eddie Long preached the sunday following all the incidents that came to light. from what i was told, they are definitley trying to distance themselves from these people. Long's message was titled " there's a shaking going on" and did everything but say Paula and jaunita's name
