I bought a new Bible program

Hey gang! I bought a new Bible program. It's called Bible Explorer 4. It has some very neat features. What program do you use?

Malvaro 09-19-2007 01:29 PM

I'm sorry. :(

Ever seen E-Sword? It's the best Bible program and it's free.... :D

Subdued 09-19-2007 01:31 PM

I use E-Sword as well.

freeatlast 09-19-2007 01:31 PM

I use only the Authorized King James. The same one Paul and Silas used.

AmazingGrace 09-19-2007 01:36 PM

I'd like to get NKJV if someone has it....

Malvaro 09-19-2007 01:46 PM

All I have are the freebies at the moment.

I like E-Sword the best because it's free. I had PC study bible on an older PC but when I got a new PC I didn't want to pay for the newer version. E-Sword is also pretty easy to use and I have the ability to read the NT in Greek.

I thought every serious student of the bible could read Greek? j\k

I'm about to compete a Degree in Theology and greek was a language requirement. It's really not as bad as you would think it is. After you memorize the alphabet and learn the sounds then you could read by phonics. Then it's simply a matter of learning the vocabulary, I try to learn a few new words every day. E-Sword is great because you can ready the "textus receptus" or the "majority text" which is what was translated into the KJV. These Bibles are hard to find and expensive so E-sword has been a money saver.

RevDWW 09-19-2007 04:16 PM

I use Quickverse. It works well for me. I have used E-Sword many years ago. I think I'll look into it again.

PC Study Bible...

BoredOutOfMyMind 09-19-2007 05:13 PM

I will check my modules in Bibletime (Linux client for Es-sword) It is not as good as eSword ,but close enough.

Rico, I did install that Bibletime on my wifes system with InstaVerse.

She hates InstaVerse and so I disabled that.

Rico 09-19-2007 08:49 PM

One of the features this program has is that I can click on the Hebrew or Greek word and can hear audio of it being pronounced.

Rico 09-19-2007 09:21 PM

Well, rats! I tried copying all the stuff in this program, for you guys to see, and it didn't work. I guess I will have to find another way. I really like this program. It is loaded with a lot of really neat features.

If you did not download it from the actual e-sword site that makes sense, otherwise your virus scanner is messed up. It's a very legit program and has been for years. And with three different virus scanners on three different machines I never had an alert

Wow, Prax! That's a lot of stuff! BTW, there's nothing wrong with my anti virus software. I am not the only person I know of who has had their anti virus program give an alert when trying to download E-Sword. Before you ask, yes, I tried getting from their site, not somewhere else.
