I Would Hang Around and Fuss With You All, But...

Granny and I are going coon hunting.

At 83, she doesn't walk to the trees with me any more, but she still likes to ride along and listen to the sweetest music never sung in church.

You all behave. :)

Give Granny a bear hug for us, and tell her we appreciate her for taking care of one of our favorite posters!

Matt, she made me a rhubarb pie and a coconut cream pie this week--powerful good.:)

She is precious.

I have been blessed with wonderful women surrounding me my whole life.

My mother, my Granny, and my favorite Aunt Niece, and now my wonderful wife.

Well, they are back and he did take a picture of her and will be in a moment to put it on.

He's coming in the door now.

Maybe I can tag along?

Coonskinner 09-20-2007 08:40 PM

"Niece" is short for Bernice.

I have always called her that, pronounced nee-see.

Coonskinner 09-20-2007 08:47 PM

Here they are--Granny and two pups under a year old.

I bet that stick is to keep CS in line......even after all these years. She just can't let go of that stick! LOL!

LadyRev's grandma doesn't walk too well either, but at 88, she still likes to go for a ride to the woods and sits in the truck for a few hours while hunting goes on.......LOL!

Ok, nobody is hunting, but she does ride out there in the hopes of seeing deer while others walk around a bit.

When I saw the title to this thread, I thought CS and LCS were going huntin'! Oh, that's right! He said she reminded him of another family member with that snaggle tooth! :D

Can I go on a hunt some night and listen to the "music"? Maybe have a piece of Granny's Pie afterward? Here's a picture of the fellow who used to take me when I was a young boy so I do know what it's all about. Did you ever hunt with someone who used a carbide lantern? Those were fascinating.

We hunted with kerosene lanterns when I was a kid...

Sure, come on. :)

It might be a bit far to get there. Here's my Dad with his last dog, Bugle. He started Bible College right after this and sold Bugle for $500.00 which was a pretty good sum in 1948!

PS: Do you pastor the church Duane Muncy used to pastor?
