I wonder how long they'll be able to afford to pay for tv advertising and have their own tv programming.......after hundreds....maybe thousands of churches pull out and take their "funding" with them.

First, I don't believe the UPCI will have a national TV advertising campaign or program. It will be local churches that choose one or the other. Don't look for TV evengelism to be added to the UPCI budget anytime soon! :)

I doubt if anywhere near a thousand churches leave! Maybe between 100-300.

Is that a good thing?

It won't happen....I think people are going to surprised just how little this new freedom will change things...

UPC churches are not going to change doctrine or dress just because they can use a Faith Highway commercial to advertise their church schedule...

The truth is...the UPCI is so behind the times that the T.V. issue whether voted in or not will make little effect on the church as a whole and little impact in today's world.

You are so right. I appreciate the way I was raised...had it not been for the church helping my mother raise us I don't know where we would be. My only regret has been the perpetual pendelum swing. Black or white, Liberal or conservative. Jesus Christ has been specific in teaching us to be moderate in all things. Why can't we just preach it and do it that way?

Now that wasn't so bad. :) I really feel that people should be around the groups that they can relate with and if a certain group makes one "SICK" they should no longer be in close proximity to the particular goup.

Sounds reasonible enough, wouldn't you agree? No need for one to become "sick" with the thought of standards. :)
